  • So I hear Steve Morris is a big fan of this group

    Most interesting.

  • Blueberry Boat is still the best. Also one of the best albums of the 2000's. I'd rank Widow City as second though. Get either of these to discover more of what the Furnaces are about

  • where the fuck do these guys get these lyrics?

  • @spishak7 I think it's about the Gordon Todd Skinner case in Oklahoma. It seems eerily similar. at (type in the browser or search it on google if you're not of a faint heart :( caselaw findlaw. com/ok- court-of- criminal-appeals/1251267 html)

  • 1.05 looks like the Japanese garden at the Missouri Botanical Garden in STL. Anyone know if that's where they shot this?

  • she means nothing to me now

  • I'm guessing rush was one of their influences?

  • @MrTawshiana and Os Mutantes!

  • no mamen.

  • terrible.

  • that chick is super cute

  • geez i love these guys...

this song sounds like one on 'About a Boy' by Badly Drawn Boy...

  • Their jewish eh?

  • non, apparemment pas, d'après ce que j'ai lu, malgré leur nom de famille à consonance juive.

  • They are amazing and they are coming in france very veryyy soon!!! :D

  • Finally i even met Eleanor BEFORE the gig!!!! Thanks so much to them & to Her especially, she's a so nice, charmain & amazing rawcker Lady!!!! :))))

  • My god this band is awesome and Eleanor is a fox ;D

  • these two are definitely banging each other.

  • @Jurgis1990

That would be pretty messed up since they're brother and sister.

  • @Calosu lol it happens.

  • de 1:29 à 2:03, on dirait du King Crimson.

  • i love that cats face

  • wtf... radiohead...are far sonically ... this is lo-fi and alternative music in a late 60s bath...

i just discovered them now... but i've heard about them since years.

I don't know why it took my soooo many times to make the move

    I don't regret it...a band to follow...

  • Eleanor is running, so, she's disappear! tense (she's leggy :D)

  • This video is exactly what I would expect from the Fiery Furnaces. I don't understand how someone would like the music but not the video. They just make so much sense together to me.

  • the song IS very Bond-esque, but they could have done a much better video. Its still cool tho

  • this video is awful. great song, great album, great band... awful video.

  • video is a lot like a 70's bond movie. I'm sure they intended that though. Matt and Eleanor are always a step ahead.

  • how the hell does that imply that they're a step ahead? what kind of ambiguous/mindless complimentary bullshit is that?? psh

  • if you don't get it you must be TWO steps behind them, unlike Jack Pitts and myself, who are only one step behind.

    Jack gets me. Holla.

  • They actually are kinda a step ahead. They know a lot more about the song and video then you do. They're totally a step ahead of you. And they're also a lot cooler than you.

  • i was thinking more like the avengers. :D

  • random fact: my sister and i got my dad one of those tree faces for father's day last year.

  • Random fact:

One of those bar ladies had a certain hold on me.

    :)

  • Oops, should be "one of those blonde ladies" my apologies

  • best music vid filmed on SI since papa don't preach!

  • was this filmed at Snug Harbor on Staten Island?? awesome.

  • thanks for posting, saw these guys about a year ago. got matthew and eleanor to sign all there cd covers for me. they were both very nice

  • I just bought Window City; can anyone recommend the next CD of FF I should purchase?

  • do you have blueberry boat? If not please get and enjoy.

  • You should def. buy it :) But the dub-versions are not important...

  • Buy them all. If you get them...it's all good.

  • @demandred753: The first album Gallowbird's Bark and then listen to Blueberry Boat. BLOWN AWAY!! E.P. was the third album then I think Rehearsing My Choir and Bitter. Hope you enjoy the ride.

  • Saw them live. Was three feet away from Eleanor.

  • lucky

  • This is a fantastic song, a beautiful video, I love it, esp. the little bridge at the end.

  • No sorry. The Fiery Furnaces DID write this!

  • FAIL!!!

  • Yes they sure did...he just covered the song on a thrill jockey compilation.

  • Heheh

  • in the words of Jeph Jaques : sounds like The Who writing mmusic for ADD kids.

  • lol yay for jeph. qc rules

  • she has a really nice voice

  • I don't know why people are giving you thumbs down, your description was fairly accurate. It's just fans of the Fiery Furnaces like being raped by a man in a barret whilst he yells Beatles lyrics. And I see nothing wrong with self indulgent music

  • This song was written by David Byrne of the Talking Heads. So I wouldn't base my opinion of this band on this particular song.

  • Uhh...

  • i want to make sexy with elanor

  • this video makes me want to whittle something

  • these guys are GREAT!

  • i even went so far as to sacrifice a second snake to zeus, man these lyrics are so cool.

  • David Byrne did a great cover of this

  • yea i like david byrne's version too

  • " i burned all my clothes in eucylptus juice, ripped out the floors and painted all the platforms puce." I LOVE IT!!

  • This video reminds me of a time i dropped acid and was walking by a tree which I completely saw a face on. There really was a goofy face on it, but at first I thought I was just tripping. I love this song.

  • EX...traordinary song

  • what a bubblegum-palmtree, eletrostatic-hobo trip fest

  • She looks like a abba-woman

  • ROLF!!

  • i think im in love with her

  • Who isn't?

  • I love this song.

  • Me too - great new sound! You might also like to check out JUST FUUZ too. Saw them live in London - awesome!!

  • the 2nd bit of the chorus sounds like the beatles in my life were it says though has changed. beside that i think the vids ok trippy in the middle.

  • One of my favourite songs but apart from the bit with the cat it's a dreadful video. I'm trying to convince myself it was ironic.

  • liked the song, hated the video

  • Does the band justice. I had those goofy eye/nose/mouth cut-outs b4.

  • Those mask tree things during the synth bit, some a woman came to my checkout with some of those, So creepy cause I had ex-guru in my head at the time it was soooooooooo freaky, seriously

  • yeah the fiery furnaces are rad but the beginning chorus is not so good, but the break is rad!

  • What'll the next single be? My hope is for "My Egyptian Grammar" or "Philadelphia Grand Jury."

  • Angie Waller kind of brought life to the song. good song, but Angie kind of made it live. great video.

  • Gee it looks exactly like the Weird War video for "Illuminated"

  • Hey, Eleanor. Olga is right about a little makeup enhancing your beauty. I refer you to 2:08. Glamourous!

  • Where´s the grandma?

  • shes dead.

  • Love these guys and love this song, but I have to say this video is plain ol' stupid. Sorry.

  • Love them Fiery Furnaces.

Matthew must have been listening to Genesis' Foxtrot when he was in the studio. That Prog break in the middle has a Supper's Ready feel to it...

  • Love the tree faces. My favoritest band!

  • im in love with that synth

  • The Fiery Furnaces are by far my favorite band. Good job on the new CD. The backwards vocals often leave me squeamish, haha.

  • I love this video. I met them both at the Grog Shop and they are super friendly. :D

  • Brilliant! Loved Matthew running. Excellent! I'm the biggest F.F. fan man, they are my favorite band in the world....

  • what the hell did i just see?

    I LOVE THE FIERY FURNACES!

their new album Widow City is their best yet.
