I will be buying..... THE SOUNDTRACK!! I will always love lufia music.
this is lufia 2, reimagined, not a remake.
A remake is when they take whats there and remake it, this is a complete change. So its a reimagining. So as far as that goes, im ok with it. But I would greatly appreciate a true remake. Upgraded music, graphics would be nice in 3d, but more like diablo style 3d, top down like the original, but still 3d.
It's his new look. The game isn't really a remake. It's more of a "reconstruction". They're making a new game, and they're basing it off of Lufia 2. New world, new story, new cities, sames characters.
@megamanxz1 I agree with you. One of the things I loved about Lufia 2 for the SNES was that the character's designs (especially in the artwork) looked like mature adults instead of stereotypical anime characters. I mean, Maxim design isn't as bad as Artea, who now just looks like any other blond elf or Guy who looks like a gigantic meat head. I wish they had stuck more closely to the original design. There are enough goofy anime character designs as it is.
I think you little hoochies need to look at Lufia 2 without the nostalgia goggles. Frankly, the Lufia series brought nothing new to RPGs as far as gameplay was concerned. Maxim's original character design was blue spandex and plate armor. Selan looked like at least 5 seperate Fire Emblem characters, and let's not even talk about how ridiculous official art of Dekar was.
The story and puzzles were what made Lufia II great, and as long as they're intact, this game will probably be great.
To be contrary, I'm really ticked off about this. What's the point of calling it Lufia if they're redesigning everything and only keeping the character's and series' original name? They may as well just give it a new name, and then at least old fans won't be disappointed. It just smacks of laziness and disrespect to the original team's designs. Yes, I know the original team are working on it too but that's no excuse. So sick of companies recycling unique games/movies into crap.
I know what you mean, and I completely understand. I would have perfered if they just pulled a Chrono Trigger DS as well and kept the original game relatively intact, but I'm just glad to see from Lufia 2 again. I suppose you can't make everyone happy.
With this games release though, the chances of Lufia 2 getting onto VC skyrocket though. I'm looking forward to that as well... if it happens.
@ Quietpower99 I would buy Lufia 2 on the virtual console the day it came out if that happened. :)
As for the new game, I'm kind of torn. I'm happy to see Lufia 2 again, but I'm not really liking the direction their taking. Lufia 2 was a great game as it was and I don't think it needs a gimmicky new look or whole new battle system to sell. Just my opinion though.
From what I've seen, yes. Ramped up to appeal to today's action gamer and praying to god that the original gamers with at least feel nostalgic when experiencing it.
Actually, the Star Trek movie is the best analogy I've heard thus far, thanks dude.

You purists are overreacting. Unlike the majority of Square Enix remakes this isn't Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals and shouldn't treated as such.

still wished they kept the turn based battles though. :P

Personally, I don't care for his new look. How come all of Square's guys have to look like pretty bois. Gimme a break.

Squall was a fag; they can do whatever they want with his outfit. With Maxim, it'll be remembered as his, and Squall will be forgotten.
