Its quite an appealing and yes, a challenging performance: both for the master as well as the follower. Lets us give full credit to both to have pulled it off so brilliantly.
After all, singing over their is a bit different than listening on our laptops in our lounges and commenting casually!

While Ghulam Saheb's voice like old wine has ripened with age, poor Ranjit is trying to copy his style and singing at a much lower pitch which his throat does not support. His constant interference in the former's singing has made the Ghazals lose their charm. But i dont blame him. The dumb Zee TV producers must have forced these 2 to perform together, just for the sake of TRPs.. while the music suffers.
You can see the INSECURITY in Ghulam Ali Sahib soo clearly... it's sooooo obvious... he wouldnt give Ranjit a chance, and trying to over-power his voice, singing with such a speed... UFF... with all due respect... when Ranjit sings seperately, check him out, he kicks every Old-Gold's Ass :)

Ive a simple req here, Guys plz dont compare any singer to anyone, I've seen so many ppl comparing and fighting 4 Jagjit Singh Ji 2 Ustad Ghulam Ali, Rafi Saab 2 Kishor Da & so on,, every1 has its own Gayaki and Way of singing and with that they are Ustad/Guru/Mentor in their respective way of singing or in Indian/Pakistan way Gharana.
