@Kiln99 Thanks.. There's nothing difficult about this ride pattern, and that rumor appears to be unjustified as the tempo of this song is moderate. Ringo has played rides to some very fast tempos such as: Help, I'm A Looser, What Goes On, etc, etc, so that sounds like a false rumor.
@rhythmantic I can't deny that.He did play very fast tempos and he played them very well indeed tho the songs you mention are all pre 66 era i.e more beat music which was his strongest style.I feel Ringo had some difficulties dealing with the change in musical styles that happened around 1966-67.When 'pop' changed to 'rock' really.Heavier music required heavier drummers and i dont think that was ever gonna be Ringo's bag
@Kiln99 I beg to differ. Ringo was adaptable to grow as the band's compositions grew in more complexity. For example: A Day In The Life, She Said She Said, Strawberry Fields, Day Tripper, Magical Mystery Tour. Have you ever listened to Ticket To Ride and hear how heavy the drums were and all the different fills Ringo played, each one different?. Also Tomorrow Never Knows, - very heavy drumming. Ringo was the perfect drummer for The Beatles. We drummers know & appreciate Ringo's drumming.
@gabegify That's one of The Beatles songs I won't be covering, that and Michelle, Mr. Moonlight, I'll Follow The Sun, Words of Love, Girl, For No One, PS I Love You, Love Me Do, I'll Get You, Ain't She Sweet, O' Darlin', etc, etc. Thanks for the suggestion though.
@petebestofthebeatles Thanks Pete. I played your drums during a visit to the Casbah club outside of Liverpool back in '09. I think I posted the video of it on my channel.
Cool Beatles song and cover. Nice drumming. Alway liked the sound of the simultaneous sinature guitar leads played by George and Paul.....To think that John at one point thought this was a throw away song....Nick
@rhythmantic Unfortunately no. I had that kit back in the 4th grade in 1974 and then we moved in 1977 due to my Dad retiring. The kit went south due to the climate overseas. It was still pretty good when I left it in 1984 but it's in storage now. Needs some new heads though but it would cost more to ship it back and have it refurbished than to get a new kit..
Well done with the high hat action for i believe on the recording it's an overdub!Poor Ringo presumably couldn't manage to play it live lol

Wow Sal you play this one so well! I used to try and play with it back in the 70's on my Slingerland kit but could'nt figure it out
SQDLVR 8 months ago
@SQDLVR wow, how about that. I would have more trouble playing that dual guitar line from George & John. Do you still have that Slingerland kit?
