You see, the main character, the girl who's doing all the awesome martial arts, her name is Zen and in the movie, her mom is really sick and so she goes around beating up bad gangs to get the money these gangs owe her mom. I'm not totally sure why the gangs owe her mom money, I haven't seen the movie in a while. But anyway, I hope this helped. :)
