Scaffold matches were a big attraction of the days before every match being a stipulation or "diferent" match type. THey died a quick death when fans realized they suck and absolutely dangerous. Wrestling is relatlively safe because it's a controlled environment with guys doing stuff they know how to do properly. No one's going to piledrive someone on a scaffold on the chance they could slip and send their opponent plummeting to his death.
ECW had a couple good ones... well they used it twice in one night but it was supposed to be for one match - however they had tables stacked in the ring to break the fall for the actual match... perry saturn just decided he could drop an elbow from it...
seeing Schiavone on top of that scaffold with the camera looking up sells the match enough in my opinion and when you realize how high up it is you are thinking one thing
"Dear lord don't let me fall onto the concrete!"
Why? Think about it!
Fake or not you take a fall onto concrete from 25ft up you're getting either hurt or killed and NEITHER looks good in the long run!
@tracer28583 Do you realize how dangerous this is? Mans could have died falling off that shit. The real question is what wrestler would agree to a match like this?
@tracer28583 Simple answer for a simple question,WWE is for pussies! They care so much more about their image that they'll rather have pretty boy kiddey matches than hardcore stuff like in the old days besides WWF/WWE never cared for those type of matches the NWA always went that extra mile.
I remember the build-up for this match. I thought these guys were the craziest people on the planet! Awesome match for the time, and even now. No one would try this now!
cornette blew both his knees out because of this, ANd he was scared of heights lol poor guy, such a good match! you cna see why they didnt have any after this tho

@peterp21 Exactly, that's probably the reason why WWE did not have any scaffold matches.
