...And Juanita she's a little bit older now, Spot Check Billy's looks just the same, had three card money on the Boulevard, with mirrors on his shoes...
I am not gay and you obviously have never had a friendship like that. If you had, you'd understand. If you haven't, there's no way a friendship like that can be explaind. Poor YOU.
My Best Friend & I saw Little Feat at The Fox Theater in St. Louis a long time ago and after the first line of this song, I said, "Do you remember the time..." and she said, "I know exactly what you're gonna say. I know the exact night ...." and we both started crying because we are so lucky to have each other as a best friend and to have so many best friend memories.
ok i just wanna say, i never sign into this, but i just had to, just to say screw off to rox7899, do you have no love in your life? this is one of the most touching songs ever written to me, and just graduating highschool it really gets me everytime. i think that you and your best friend got to see it together is awesome. i grew up listening to the feat, my dads favorite band. fight the good fighttttttt
Oh! Well thank you! I had another friend who introduced me to Little Feat. We were all listening to the usual stuff, in the 80's but this guy, a cowboy, was the hugest Feat fan and he got me hooked. He died of lung cancer at age 48, one year ago and I sure do miss his smiling face, pressed against my window pane! Go ride high Tom Hampton, my friend in life and ever after!
This is one of the few songs that strikes home - it captures, in lyrics, lingering memories of (mis)spent youth, reviving precious dreams. It's on my favorite Feat album, and loses nothing here. I *can* imagine what these fine musicians have given up to give us this body of music, and admire their ability - and willingness - to continue doing so. Thanks for sharing this here.
A favorite, written about Lowell. This night's song was dedicated to a young serviceman Travis, who had been at featcamp the orevious year and is currently serving.

That might be the gayest thing I have ever heard. Someone should ban you from the internet. I am now going to vomit because of you.

"We'd stay up all night
Tryin' to find just the right rhymes
And we were fightin' the good fight
Hangin' on to the good times
