Terrible loss - a loss of history, a loss of community, a loss of an era. J Paul Getty had an office in that building shortly after it was opened; many new oil businesses were launched there. And that corner had one tenant in 99 years... Breaks my heart thinking of it.
@mayb10 Wasn't there a hobby shop there at one time? I remember going to look at model trains and I think the shop was called Hobby Lobby and was in the May's Bother's building. It's kinda sad to see a piece of history go.
I do hope they can restore it. I know many of the spaces had been renovated in the past few years. I live in Oregon but grew up in Bartlesville; pretty much lived at my Dad's shop on Johnstone. so sorry to hear of this latest setback.
@bogey4ever Interesting. Which do you like better? Otrgon or Oklahoma. I'm thinking of relocating from L.A. to one of those states. I'd love to hear peoples opinions.
and a year later the renovations are going great

Thanks for the video. I went down about 11:00 this morning and that's what I saw. Too bad. This was a real landmark here in town.
