Try right clicking on the icon and go to properties and than compatibility and it should say what computer you have and than select that hit Ok and Apply make sure you hit Apply and it might work. Try reinstalling the game check to see if your video card is up to date, if you ask EA they stink at helping people or buy a new game for $6.00 on Amazon.com

I use the latest patch and a no-cd fix (gamecopyworld). I've bought this game like 4 times over the years, so I have no guilt.
But when we try to run without the external CD connected, it refuses to load - connect the external CD and it boots fine. I think that part of the protection code checks the CD, and if it can't even get that far it just cancels.
Not sure if or why that would affect you guys though, probably talking about completely different issues but it's worth remembering.
It's not a corrupt file, at least not locally, as this exact same thing happend on my brothers aspire one yesterday and a full copy-over did nothing.
So I think it must be a .DLL registration issue or a system file being corrupted. I had to reinstall to get it to work, hope this doesn't happen again. We were playing the 'Who Dares Wins' mod, so it might be an issue concerning mods, or maybe even that mod in particular.

I Had the same proplem dude but i fixed it:
(1st: Try to restart your comeputer!)
2nd: Its Your disk Clan it was thoothpaste Then..
3rd: Renstall it!
