  • HERE'S SOMETHING SHADIER THAN SCIENTOLOGY: Did you know that when you post a comment on a Youtube video that it doesn't necessarily appear unless you are signed in and the video channel hasn't blocked it? What this means is, you may THINK your comments are gettting through, but there is no way to test it unless you can go downtown and use the library computer to see if your comments are appearing. THAT is WORSE than Scientology!!!! It's not only more pointless than Scientology; it's MEANER!!

  • If you read dianetics its a mind fuck..

  • I've long heard this rumor or joke—maybe a bit of both, that Hubbard created Scientology just to see if it could be done; like a bet.

"Hey, you think people are dumb enough to...."

Hubbard, "Yes; and I bet I could get them to do it."

  • @willdrake1 he actually said if you want to make it any where in life start a religion> its were the money is

  • @lordspectre

    Nice.

Have you ever heard the other thing: the rumor that all of this is about some bet?

    God I would love that.

  • @willdrake1 yes i have but unfortunately it is unproven and unlikely as many people who were close to hubbard spoke that he was motivated by money, there is also a document released by cia were he discussed to the recipient that he was setting the church as a sort of business

  • @lordspectre

    Nice

  • @lordspectre

I've been to a temple, it was very weird.

  • I just don't understand....Scientology, so fucked up.

  • Randi is one of my heroes!

  • James Randi is a living treasure. I'm so grateful for the passionate and compassionate work that he does.

  • Our senses and light impressing them creates our reality ... all 5 senses are designed to receive, they cannot do anything else, so they always get the same results ... but if a human were to change his Quality, Purpose, and Intention toward everything, he would have then annulled his nature and can gain knowledge of whats been hidden (other dimension/spiritual upper structure) the thought begins in the upper and manifests in the lower thru our 5 senses ... we cannot change a thing.

  • "your completly dismissing the subject"

    "yep"

Randi is one of my heros

  • @alexwolff1990 James Randi, Bill Maher, Chris Hitchens, Richard Dawkins and Albert Einstein at one end of the scale. Tom Cruise, Ray Comfort, Bill O'Reilly, Tony Blair and Sarah Palin at the other.

  • Assertions made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. It seems that every faith tells people, you need to believe this stuff before you can "know it to be true." That's how they get people to take the battery out of their instinctual bull shit detector and support priests and other religious institutions.

  • asshole let the guy eat

  • Comment removed

  • Bugging while he's eating? Were these zombies ever taught manners?

  • @bumcheek7 It's called HardSell. I have to sell you this book:

    a) It is the only way you will be saved as an immortal being.

    b) I need the commission so I can have a meal this week.

  • Does anyone else find it ironic that the Co$ is at a conference called 'CULTinfo'? Did they think it was a place share and learn about advances in creating and maintaing cults?

  • @thecodewerks You may be aware that Co$ has completely appropriated the Cult Awareness Network, and it is in their interests to appropriate such other groups as well in an effort to extinguish the word cult.

  • Damn right Randi's dismissing the subject, if somebody told you by jumping out of an airplane with no parachute and just flapping your arms you could fly and "don't say this is wrong without testing it" you'd dismiss it as stupid too.

Not every hypothesis is worthy of testing!

  • $cientology is a criminal cult.

  • Here's a scenario.... Some wierdo comes up to you and asks you to read a book on his religion based on and idolising the dog turd. Wouldn't you dismiss him? I would - I'd also dismiss Scientology... Same difference - it's all a lot of shit.

  • Comment removed

  • "What you're doing is completely dismissing the subject..."

    "Yup."

  • Begin.

    S: "Look at it objectively"

    R: "I have."

    S: "Look at it objectively"

    R: "I have."

    S: "Look at it objectively"

    R: "I have."

    End.

  • @mathforphysics TR3 in action.

  • You can always tell someone is selling something by how fast they speak and how little silence they leave for the other person to fill.

  • This is always what happens when intelligent atheists becom well known. Theists of all sorts are always coming up and saying YOU HAVE to debate with me. It happens all the time with creationists.

But as dawkins says, it's a akin to a flat-earth theorist demanding a geologist debate with them.....

  • Randi's a god and he's old, it could be his last meal so you have to let him eat.

  • So basically, they walked up to Dr Randi whilst he was eating a meal and started insisting that he scrutinize Scientology? Other than being rude, what did they hope to achieve?

  • scientology is idiotic and hpw dare you be so disrespectful

  • This is so rude. I don't agree with Randi very much but harassing like this while he is trying to have a nice meal with colleagues is just inappropriate. I agree with the top comment just let the guy relax and enjoy his meal.

  • I HAVE read Dianetics. I said it once, right after I finished the book and I'll say it until the day I die. Almost every page in that thing sounds like the paranoid ravings of a god damn speed freak. I don't see how anyone, let alone James Randi, could be convinced by such an ill written, poorly conceived, and in some places anti-gay, rant. But I'm sure an OT could show me how I'm just ill informed about all that.

  • @Roddog61 said: "every page in that thing sounds like the paranoid ravings of a god damn speed freak."

Are you aware that Ron Hubbard WAS an amphetamine addict?

    So you are spot on.

  • @OrthodoxDarwinist Wow. No I didn't. I was working closely with a Supervisor who used a lot of Meth, they had already fired her before I picked up Dianetics. The book sounded just like her. As I recall, I passed it around to several of my co-workers. I don't remember anyone who didn't think it was a pretty sad little tome. In fact, certain "Scientology phrases" became a running joke with us. From what I can gather, we were pretty lucky. Thanks for the update.

  • @Roddog61

Yep and the teachings of scientology and past lives comes from when Ron Hubbard decided to feed his son a monumental amount of amphetamines until he started to talk about when he was a primordial clam. It mentions all this in his biography, lol. What a freak.

  • 00:38 - Best Line Ever!!!

  • Scientology healed my asthma ! ( puff puff) Never felt better ! ( puff puff). Starts to sound like a Monty Python skit.

  • Another expert...

  • FUCK YOU I AM GOING TO EAT MY DINNER STOP UR CRAP

  • Randi, you're a legend.

  • "Willfully Evil Man"

    -- James Randi describing Hubbard

  • Go Randi!

  • willfully evil.... sweet

  • Every scientologist is a fucking idiot enough said...the fat bastard himself L ron hubbard said he made the religion as a joke to see how many dumbshits would actually follow it.

  • @dizzi13zirbel exactly

  • Scientology is blatantly wrong. More so than any other cult.

  • David Miscavaige is a body basher

  • Ron was a con

  • Top stuff!! Good on you James.... You are the man!

Thanks for such a great post..

    AM

  • That's about as much tolerance as that deserves.

  • Randi at his best

  • 1:13 Epic Laughter!

  • As a spiritual person, im not always on Randi's team. But he was great here. :o)

  • @greenelf12 I'll bring my special vacuum cleaner to your house.

  • @Jelubaful I tihnk I might know where this is going but what do's it do?

  • @greenelf12 Are you trolling me by using that shitty grammar or are you a genuine retard?

  • @Jelubaful he say's with a very borderline troll coment. Can't belleve you have never heard of dyslexia.

  • @greenelf12 Don't make comments if you have dyslexia.

  • @Jelubaful wahtz lisdekia?

  • scientology, when other religions arent dumb enough for you

  • Comment removed

  • awesome!

  • How about taking NO for a fucking answer? It's like okay, you can ask once, but if they say they're not interested, then GTFO. It's like if a Jehovah's witnesses knocked on your door and when you said "sorry not interested" they stuck their foot in the door and won't leave you alone. Once someone says "go away" but you continue to pester them, that's called harassment. I guess Scientology wouldn't know the difference.

  • @WerewolfOfTheWater I knew that cauldron of boiling oil was suspended over the front door for a reason.

  • james randi is a legend. he knows your religion is fake because he IS god. seriously, that dude hasn't aged since at least the invention of the video camera.

  • @Robstailey randi is "god" to JREF's. hubbard is "god" to scns.

I hate to break it to you but neither of them is actually God.

  • Randi's far too nice of a guy. Random man walks up, asks him to look at something that he thinks is important, Randi isn't interested for whatever reason, man says he's not being consistent. Who the crap is this guy and why does he think he has a right to dictate what the man should do with his time. I'm surprised no one at the table stood up and said "Sir, you're being a douche, please leave."

  • OMG just let the man eat for crying out loud!

  • I agree that L. Ron Hubbard was an evil man. Nice plain language from Randi.

  • When I started watching this I was SO CONFUSED as to why Mark Bunker was helping somebody ambush James Randi in an attempt to pressure him into investigating Scientology. Don't be like me, kids. Read the video description before watching.

  • Wild scientologist appears!

  • @MrPocketmouse Go! RANDI!

    RANDI used LOGIC!

    It's super effective!

    Wild SCIENTOLOGIST fainted!

  • "I'm kind of disappointed that you're generalizing me with everyone else…"

As if James Randi cares about disappointing some lunatic scientologist interrupting his dinner.

  • James Randi is my idol. I've seen him twice at the last two TAMs and I feel honored to have shaken his hand.

  • @Zantaer What's a TAM? How do I find one?

  • @Laevi1337 Info can be found at Randi's site:

    randi (dot) org/site/

    Go! It's a great experience!

  • @Laevi1337 TAM is The Amazing Meeting. It's a skeptic's conference held in July and it's fucking awesome.

  • Lol, Scientology, U MAD BRO?

  • LOL Randi is like "wat? hubbard? oh yeah I met him, he was a douchebag"

  • He's free to dismiss. Others are free to believe crap. I believe in the UFO. Let freedom ring:D

  • Let the guy eat his dinner.

  • If I could just take a moment of your time to show you the benefits of wearing shoes on your hands and gloves on your feet.

  • @DeimosSaturn Done.

  • Dianetics is dreadful pseudo-intellectual pseudo science - full of outrageous claims with zero evidence. James Randi was overly polite to the $cientology pushing muppet!

  • @laserofjustice How dare you compare a Scn to a muppet! To operate properly, a Scn has a fist stuck up his ass, whereas a muppet, um, yeah, right ...

  • @RoyalPrinceXenu I am sorry, muppets are far too lifelike and likeable to be scilons!

  • For godsakes.... let the man eat!!!

  • Cool ★★★★★

  • You're just dismissing the subject.

    ...Yep!

  • asshole $cientologists won't let the poor guy eat in peace...

  • Randi personally told me that the two times he met Hubbard, he was drunk. Lots of people get drunk, but not too many "Church" leaders go around in public drunk.

  • I found the Campbell guy: wikipedia org/wiki/John_W._Campbell

"In 1949, Campbell became interested in Dianetics. He wrote of L. Ron Hubbard's initial article in Astounding that "It is, I assure you in full and absolute sincerity, one of the most important articles ever published." He also claimed to have successfully used dianetic techniques himself."

  • Who is the "Campbell" guy Randi is referring to at 2:52? Same for "A E VanDo..."?

  • @AnonOrange

    A.E. Van Vogt.

  • @AnonOrange

Kind of sad to hear him say that; I like A.E. but I guess even a chump can wirte good stories.

  • @AnonOrange Probably referring to A.E. Van Vogt, the guy who wrote Voyage of the Space Beagle, Slan and others. He subscribed to Dianetics for a time, headed up one of Hubbard's Dianetics operations back in 1950.

  • Leave him the fuck alone. He's trying to eat.

  • @Bueller007 I agree...That's what ALL BRAINWASHED ROBOTS do>>>>

  • Wait a minute...

    TWO Wise Beard Men?

  • @katey1dog Yep. Seems that way. One wise, one wise ... and awesome.

  • @DecKrash

    EPIC to be exact.

  • @katey1dog

Randi is The beard wise man. Big difference.

  • @Ebrainiac1

    The Bearded Wise Man.

  • @katey1dog OLD Wise Beard Man?

  • @SunnasChariot

    Elder Statesman/Wise Beard Man.
