@Drybob124 i was thinking about this the other day but i dont think it would be that much better. personally i like the 2-d version of yoshi better than the 3-D one. I also think it would be weird to see the 3D version with mario on his back.

I don't see how breaking the shell would hurt, as koopas shells are not a part of their body.

Well, Koopas are just based on turtles. They aren't connected to their shell like real turtles, it's a bit like clothes for them. And Hookbill turned back into a normal sized Koopa, so he didn't fell all the pain he would have felt as Hookbill.
