Hi friend, I would like to ask you about the speaker that you put, because I put in my kato gp7 a .075 by sound traxx and the resulted wasn't the best, could you please tell me the size and brand that did you put? thanks
Great video, the loco sounds great. I'm in the process of trying to decide which sound decoder to install in my newly purchase Bangor & Aroostook Atlas GP-7s, and I wondered if you used the Tsunami decoder #828040? Also, what size speaker did you use, did you use an enclosure with it, and was it hard finding a place to fit the speaker inside the shell? Thanks!
I used the first run Tsunami EMD 567 decoder, and a Traintek small oval speaker with enclosure. The enclosure is located face-down in the rear of the long hood up against the top of the hood.
hi, I need to ask you something about this decoder, Did you like as the sound leaves the locomotive, I ask it because I'm going to buy 3 like this, so when the locomotive starts to run does the motor accompany the sound at the same time? I ask you because when I watched this video I saw that the locomotive worked perfectly as I like, thanks
The lag between movement and engine rev, is partly the decoder itself and partly programming CV's to make it happen. You can make the sound do practically anything you want. I experimented with the pre-set speed curve options and a few other CV's to get the unit to do what you see here. Download from Soundtraxx website, the Tsunami Diesel Users Guide, and the Diesel Technical Reference. Everything you need to know is in there. All of the CV's you need to modify are programmaple in ops mode.
Yes......program on the main. Go to CV115 (should be the same CV for all diesel Tsunamis but check to be sure...). The range of options (values) for CV115 is called out in the Tsunami Diesel Decoder Users Guide which you can download on Soundtraxx' web page. On the 567, it is 0 to 11 I believe...but check the user guide.
Thankyou! I wouldn't have guessed I had to program in Ops Mode. On the EMD 3rd gen its CV 115 = x (x being 0 through 15, or for two horns (ab)+1=x)the latter for multiple horns.
Outstanding!! I installed the same decoder in an Athearn CF7 and I'm impressed. I can't wait to hear the EMD 3rd Generation decoder I received a few days ago!
Good demo.

I am going to be getting this exact setup, what would you say is the largest speaker you can fit in the long hood? Thanks

You able to change the horn from that horrid M series horn? My EMD 710 decoder wont accept any other CV.
