I don't claim to be an expert on this topic, but it seems to me that since peace treaties don't actually produce peace, that nuclear proliferation treaties won't prevent nuclear attacks.
I don't see why it matters what type of weapons we use to retaliate... either way its war and you are killing people. Using nuclear weapons would help save lives of our own country's citizens and soldiers which should be number one priority.

I have to agree that Iran signed the treaty, so we should be allowed to check if they are developping nukes. Though, feeling the danger from its neighbored they are allowed to call Article X (just like NK did) to withdraw from the NTP and then develop Nukes.

@Socrates469399 PART 2: You brought up the cave allegory. Let's talk about that and how it relates to politics since you don't seem to think "truth" has anything to do with it. Let's say we are, indeed, in the cave. The cave is all we know. There might be an entire world outside of this cave, but we will never know that, because we can't leave it. So what do we do? We learn what we can of how things work in the cave, and we use that knowledge to determine how best to survive in our situation.

Which is what politicians do. They use the most accurate information they can to determine the best course of action for the people they represent. You can't say that there are no facts and, therefore, it is impossible for them to truly do this. If you shoot someone in the head, they die. FACT.

We had some of our co-workers who live in the UK on a conf. call and we mentioned the tea parties here in the states. @sneeptheelite There is a huge difference from each, a tactical device is relatively small used on the battlefield. Can be fired by artillary, torpedos and small missles. (like the M-388 Davey Crockett only 10 T) Strategic devices are the bombs most people thnk about, those are the deterent weapons , American B-53 (9 Mt) or the granddaddy the soviet Tsar (57Mt to 100Mt)
