Robin is a great singer singing covers to songs the Bee Gees sing. He's not the Bee Gees and what's really obvious is he's finally found his niche as a front man in a "one man cover ensemblist " singing songs he'd wished he'd solely taken credit for. He has a career doing original stuff but it isn't that great. His jealousy of brother Barry seems to rage on and award ceremonies will continue to have him as a way of saying, "Well, at least we got one to be here, tonight."
maybe there's a bit of truth in your thoughts. but i don't think is a matter of jealousy. robin has had enough leads in his career and his voice is widely recognized as the most unique of the three. i believe his continuous efforts are more due to his trying to keep the memory of the BGs alive - for what purpose, you decide. and he just couldn't attract audience without the BG's greatest hits. all of the big old rock&pop stars that are now returning to the stage are doing the same.
I'm a fan of the early Bee Gees music and have been since the late 60's,I must confess to being a fan of Robin, his voice gives me goose bumps, who could imagine anybody else doing justice to "I started a joke" "Saved by the bell" "Massachusetts" etc.....but having said that, as good a job as Robin does with this, I feel "Words" belongs to Barry.

bunch of robin fans in here not bee gee.... how can you compare robin to barry. the bee gee exist only because barry the lead singer and he is the only who brought the bee gee into fame with the twins help so stop praising him, he can't carry any of the bee gee stuff....
Hunters, why do you go around tryign to invent conflict that doesn't exist?
I love Barry's voice, I love Robin's voice, I love Mo's voice, as well as all their instrumental talent, none of them could have recieved the success they had without each other, come on.
robin should have sung this one originally. barry's version is sappy, robin's then-more-controlled singing would have darkened it, toughened it up a bit. well, a bit, anyway.
Normally I don't like Robin sand Barry's lead song, but this time was exceptional. This was great! At 02:17, he did exactly what Barry did, indeed he use his vibrato voice, making it more better...The only great song that he sang original lead by Barry.
Sure, Barry and Robin have somewhat different styles. :) That's what makes them harmonize so well. Maybe it's better to say "no one *living* can sing it like Barry", as Andy Gibb (RIP) was very similar to brother Barry. Search and listen to his performance of "Words". It is eerie how they are so similar, especially when you see one of Barry's early performances (68) of this beautiful song. Suffice to say they all are or were very talented and the ones that have passed are deeply missed.
And God bless Robin
