I used to do this to all my jeans to make them skin tight.. the only problem is that when i would skateboard and do a particularly big stair set or drop the calfs in my jeans would blow out and as a result all my jeans had rips in the calf area

You should take them of, turn the jeans inside out, take a piece of chalk and a yard stick then line the stick up to the side of the jeans a draw a line starting from the bottom of the jeans and as you make it towards the top get closer and closer to them hem, and sew.
