@R33Racer They have reverse, but it is against the rules to use it on the pitlane resulting in an instant disqualification. There simply isn't enough rear visibility to back up with mechanics around. You can use it on the track, but 99% of the time the driver is better off just snapping the car around in 1st gear.

@wakojako49 Yes, they do have a reverse gear however they don't use it much because it tends to not be good for the engine. Also most of the time it's easier to sure do a quick turnaround using the throttle.

@morganroate im prety sure F1 cars now doesnt have reverse gears but instead they have neutral and the engineers will just push it backward. if you think of it, the gear for reverse is added weight plus majority of the time f1 car just goes forward. i also dont think that any gearboxes would destroyes an engine.

i am not a big fan of coulthard but he is not a fool frankly.. the modern pit stop entry is not as tight as this.. driver need to slow down before the white line or they will get penalty.. imagine you are sitting in the cockpit and the line barely visible.. they will try to slow as near as possible
