Now, if it is a multi-opponent fight, of course you don't go to the ground. Grappling, however, is not about taking the fight to the ground only. It's about learning to get up and not get taken down.

Affairs that don't concern me? I AM a martial artist. A Karate black belt with 35 years in the art. I learned to really apply my hands by studying films of Ali. As far as MMA, not a lot of martial arts just brawling.I liked the PKA full contact Karate of the 80s. Boxing is also a martial art at it's higest levels. Hit and don't get hit. MMA guys would get their asses handed to them vs a Boxer they couldn't tackle. Clowns like you probably though Hulk Hogan & WWF were real before you found MMA.

The only way to keep kimbo successful would be to load his schedule with handpicked cans like exc did and I can't see the ufc bringing in the james thompsons of the world just for kimbo. Most likely they will try to get him the easiest matches they can with their current roster and send him along if he washes out

Roy wasn't hitting him hard because he was in a tournament format call "the ultimate fighter". You break your hand, you go home, Dana hates him and if he got hurt he was out. Kimbo swept James Thompson because James Thompson sucks. He is a can, he weighs roughly the same as roy but roy is an excellent grappler. He is a renzo gracie blackbelt with notable grappling competition wins. James Thompson is a can with a glass chin.
