Great movie I remember as a child. Also, remember that there is a great scene where Joan is "chastised" with the lash.

I love this movie. It is perhaps the only "historical" movie of the time that is not based around some bible stuff. And it manages quite a bit of drama in this final scene of the pyramid sealing. Love that song

What was the matter with the priests? Why didn't they offer to console her? Were they eunuchs?

She's a murderess, having killed the first queen, her son the prince, and finally, the old Pharoah himself. The high Priest knows about her treachery. The others have had their tongues cut out and their nuts cut off. Kind of like a Fraternity, I guess. They see to it that justice prevails and Nelipher gets entombed with them. The actress is a very young Joan Collins, by the way.

The son LIVED on to reign = you MISSED that one. The Monks voluntarilly "silenced" their verbal knowledge of the tombs secrets, even if to talk in their sleep, which then was a normal and ordinary practice of many ancient cultures and religions = Wrong again.
