Look, I'm initiating a project and I need a small engine with the lowest gravity center possible (using dry sump system), one of my choices is the EJ20 and I would like to know about the dimensions of it (length, width and height of the block and overhead combo). Also, if possible, the dimensions of the matching gearbox (by the way, it is a permanent or a selective 4wd?).
SubYogi what does the car drive like? Was there any engine problems after the first initial startup? Pulling out the garage it does sound a little knocky but whats it like now?
@Andyofaceness Good, i'm not the only one who hears the knocking, sounds a bit DIESELish, like bad timing or something, i don't think this build will hold high boost. A good picture material though, i am looking to do my first rebuild soon so i can use some of the info!
Im building exactly the same engine but with td05 g16, k&n, sti inyectors, oil cooler, samco hoses, ngk iridium and perrin exhaust... I cant wait to finish and hear some music lol
hey bro i noticed that when u turned the car on the engine was making a weird sound, i could hear it over the music, and i know wasn't a normal sound because it sounded like a rod or something like it, now my car is making kinda of the same noise, it pretty much sounds the same and i wanted to know if you fixed it because i would greatly appreciate it if u told me what it was so i have an idea of what it could be on mines. thanks
The sound comes from the forged pistons. Cause they have a bigger clearance. They will be quiet after warmup. When you have this sound in your stock engine at all temperatures, you will be have a piston damaged.
they rebuild it because an engine problem cause anti lag system haha
