  • If i was going to criticise this song for anything, it would be that i have to stop whatever it is i'm doing and just listen! ...and flail my arms about like i'm playing air drums! AWESOME BAND!!!

  • dreamy

  • Das muss unsychnron und disharmonischer sein als anderer Rock weil es Shoegazing ist, das ist da so wichtig Harmonien durcheinander zu wirbeln wie im Hip hop der Sprechgesang

  • Great song! And a 7/8 time signature. Gotta love it!!

  • I suggest the band, A Place To Bury Strangers. They are for those that appreciate Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., My Bloody Valentine and anything that's machine-esque yet powerful.

  • Anthem to my youth

  • Excellent! any band that is influenced by MBV, Ride, Lush, Slowdive has my vote, good stuff

  • 7/4 timing...this is fantastic!

  • We ain't got time for nothing but hardcore

Take us to the stage for the televised encore

There's too much future to get out of the way

    They're not gonna tell you

    You gotta guess again

There's too much future to get out of the way

    We don't want a half-soul

    We just wanna get stoned

    We ain't gonna die alone

Gonna make it through the blackhole

  • Great song! (swedish fan)

  • this band is amazing, end of, no need for comparisons, just enjoy it

  • Dekemc - thanks for that really good - where do you get this stuff from??? lol

  • this band is essentially a much cleaner version of MBV...they actually achieve a good melody and skip the BS

  • Totally agree.

Many say MBV's Loveless is the Bible of shoegaze, but IMO I cannot stand to like their music to be quite honest.

  • gonna follow this up now!!!! excellent!!! :-)thanks to other great bands who mentioned them...Mint Ive and The Recovery.....but watch out for Exit Calm,THE best live band in Britain!

  • i just randomly went into hmv found a cd i liked the cover of (about a year ago now) and now amusement parks on fire are one of my favorite bands, i recommed everyone do it, just choose a genre you like a band you havent heard of and make sure that its no more than 2 years old and you can find some amazing bands i found hope of the states, mogwai and frank turner all this way...it works!

  • The problem with that is you aren't really expanding your horizons. Your method isn't a secret friend.

  • yeah but with blogs and itunes genius and everything else these days its so easy to find slightly similar sounding artists.go through a few and your completely at a new genre before you know it.

  • Are there any other new shoegaze bands?

  • Look into The Daysleepers. They've got a lot of new-wave influence, but they've put out enough that you should be able to find at least a few things you like by them.

  • Oh, and they're not run-of-the-mill shoegaze, but I'd wager that Home Video kind of qualifies, though they also are very electronically minded. Hopefully they give you something new to look into :)

  • i came across Home Video the other day. fantastic band.

  • holy cow I saw this video of myself with my man it was so hot!

  • call me insaneo, but i have beautifulter pictures

  • goin to see them tomorrow. yay.

  • Great soundscape, pure sonic euphoria.

  • fucking awesome.

  • I love them!

  • theyre not bad but every one of their songs sounds the same.

  • are you kidding? I just heard Astronaut for the first time so when I put this on you can imagine the surprise when I heard the guitars!

  • Well, even the best bands have been and tend to be a bit formulaic.

  • I agree. Some bands accept that eventually the bag of tricks runs empty. Going back and redoing things, or having a set sound can breed a bit of nostalgia. Personally, I've always liked to be able to compare songs by the same artist that sound similar. I mean, look at how excited some NIN fans get when Trent quotes himself, or how Cure fans drool over backtracking. I mean, these aren't really quite what was being discussed, but I think they help convey the idea that greats repeat themselves

  • great song

  • Remind me of the shoegazer bands of my late teens... definitely feeling the MBV, Ride and early Slowdive comparisons. I'm impressed by their stuff.

  • shoegaze is the best medicine...

  • they take me to a place where time doesn´t NOT exist! That´s All Folks. Shoegaze forever

  • These guys are pretty good, but they're totally in the tradition of shoegazing bands like Ride, Swervedriver, My Bloody Valentine, Boo Radleys, etc.

The only thing that even remotely evokes Foo Fighters is the 'Everlong'-esque beat of this track. That's it.

They don't evoke Catherine Wheel for me, really.

  • nice, if you like the layered guitar sound then you should check out the chameleons( the arguable origionaters)

  • Amusement parks is one of my favorite bands! I love the etheral and atmospheric sound they have... I definately hear the My vitriol, Cathrine wheel, Hum, and failure in there along with their awesome time signatures.

  • amusement parks on fire and silversun pickups should go on tour. they would be great together

  • I'm s sucker for the 7/4 time signature

  • good call! and it does seem to work, oddly enuff.

  • try Scarling. Very similar sound, I saw them earlier this year supporting Scarling. It was amazing :)

  • I can also hear abit of the Foo Fighters and Catherine Wheel aswell.

  • there is no amount of foo fighters here. gtfo

  • i recently heard this band, it's amazing. "a whole world of sound jumping at you sort of music". if anyone likes this band they should go to myspace and check out a band called "Only If You Call Me Jhonatan". love to everybody

  • beautiful..

  • wow!!

    great band!

  • amusement parks on fire have been my one on my favorite bands for about a year and a half now, it was this sing that got me to love them :)

  • Good Song!

  • Love the song, hate the vid.

  • amazing! sound alot like My Vitriol

  • yeah i also can hear the similarity - not a bad thing at all. actually i'm very happy to hear something reminding me of good old My Vitriol. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this band.

  • A friend of mine thinks they sound like Ride, which i think is very interesting. Vocally i can hear it. Saw them in Brighon a few weeks back. they opened with this song.. really damn good, almost too good. They were hanging at the bar after... should of gone up and had a word with them but my Britishness held me back :(

  • I can hear that too....I can also hear MBV, and also Loop, if anyone remembers them.

I also hear that My Vitriol are back with us and playing again, which is good news too....

  • i've seen them live and they are able to create a great wall of sound.

  • First song I've heard properly. It's good, though someone clearly cherishes their copy of 'Loveless'.

  • I have a feeling they will become big before too long

  • I was amazed the first time i heard this song. I then bought their album and was even more amazed. I can't believe they aren't bigger than they are.

  • I was blown away the first time i heard this song. I then bought their album and was even more blown away. I can't believe they aren't bigger than they are.
