I was surprised to hear comments about this song that probably was Karen singing. I have been listening to this song since 1981 when it was first released by the Clark Sisters. I always believed in my heart that Twinkie was leading this song and of course her sisters would back her up. Twinkie always had a high pitch soprano voice somewhat similar to her sister Karen's soprano voice. Once again...it's Karen. Karen is the ONLY one that leads this songs. There are live performances on YouTube in which it is her singing it. It's definitely not Denise. Denise has a raspier voice and she didn't lead this song on the album this song is on.

That wasn't Denise. That was Karen. Denise had left the group by the time of that performance. It may not look alot like Karen, but hey it was over 20 years ago.
She wasn't kicked out. She had a child out of wedlock. Her mother gave her the option to come back after she had the child and got married. She decided not to and opted to raise her child. She still supports them to this day. She a full time Pastor at her church.

I respectfulyl disagree. Dorinda has never been a powerhouse singer, if you listen to songs where the sisters sing indivisually e.g Vain, What he's Done For Me..you can really hear it.
I believe maybe you misunderstood me, so let me explain with clarity.
The comment was made somthing to the effect that Dorinda as a small voice, which just isn't true. Yes she has a raspy jazzy voice but she has never had a small voice. As noted in "Vain", during what I call each of the girls' "area of anointing", that I would say is the "smallest" her voice has ever been, besides rcent years. Example, why is it that on every song during the early days one can mix her up with Karen?
Similar tonal qualities. Dorinda and Karen are the two youngest, and their very colse personally so i imagine they would borrow alot from each other. I think when Dorinda was younger her voice was more full and had a richer timbre. Obviously due to age and preaching its changed. But hey, its kool if you don't agree :)

Ya'll crack me up arguing about who sang lead. Maybe someone different leads sometimes when another one is not feeling well. a video clip won't show who sang in the studio. LOL. They all are related and sound similar. That's why ya'll have so many choices of who is singing lead. Why can't you just enjoy the annointing of the song?

I believe it's Twinkie leading the song. They do sound alike though. For instance, on this same album the track titled Crown him Lord of All, I could have sworn it was Twinkie singing lead, but its Jackie. So they can all sound almost exactly the same

Everybody knows KAREN leads this song. If you don't believe me, type endow me in the search field on here. There's a video of the clark sisters in 1986 singing this and KAREN is leading it. There's another video on here of KAREN leading this song that same year with a choir. Ya'll don't know what you're talking about.

It just proves my point. They can all sound alike. Just because you see clips with Karen leading the song at live concerts/programs does not mean she lead the original recording. I'm telling you its Twinkie.

Denise sounds nothing like that....Denise has a lisp in her voice!!!!! She has that oral problem where she cannot pronounce her "Rr" correctly for ex. saying rabbit...Denise would say Wabbit....If you listen Karen (who is for a fact leading) can pronounce her R's....

I wanna know what year this was recorded. I beg to differ that Karen is leading. I say Niecy or Twinkie. Aside from that, these are the most talented women ever. Dr. Moss-Clark has left true legends, as well as her being one herself.

a mezzo soprano is the part between the higher soprano and the alto....it's still soprano just lower than the soprano one/first soprano...

Another favorite is "Feed my Sheep" with only the sister singing. Let me know if anybody has it. I've been trying to get a copy of it for the longest. I think it's in her album "Coming Home"

I've been reading all the other post most say Karen..on that live one with Karen Leading she did sond a lil different than she does now but im gonna go with Karen b/c as it goes on it sounds more like her..Her and Rinda bac in da they sounded similar but the very beginning sounded a lil like Denise b/c on there other video i forget the name Denise's voice was clear and it reminded me of her. I jus wish would comeback and get a Solo lol

She was. Not Karen or Lashun type soprano, she's always had a small voice but she was a soprano back in the day.

I respectfulyl disagree. Dorinda has never been a powerhouse singer, if you listen to songs where the sisters sing indivisually e.g Vain, What he's Done For Me..you can really hear it.

I believe maybe you misunderstood me, so let me explain with clarity.
The comment was made somthing to the effect that Dorinda as a small voice, which just isn't true. Yes she has a raspy jazzy voice but she has never had a small voice. As noted in "Vain", during what I call each of the girls' "area of anointing", that I would say is the "smallest" her voice has ever been, besides rcent years. Example, why is it that on every song during the early days one can mix her up with Karen?

Similar tonal qualities. Dorinda and Karen are the two youngest, and their very colse personally so i imagine they would borrow alot from each other. I think when Dorinda was younger her voice was more full and had a richer timbre. Obviously due to age and preaching its changed. But hey, its kool if you don't agree :)

I love this song!! But I was a bit confused because it sounds like it could be Karen or Twinkie leading. They all sound alike at different times so its difficult to know for sure (at least it is for me). Also, was Denise still with them during this recording?
