Umm no. I'm saying this from experience. I haven't heard of one single scholar who has left Islam for something else. While major scholars of other religions do this all the time. Many of them choose Islam. Their rejection doesn't affect me, but it does them. They mightve been muslim at some point, but they were jahil - ignorant of their religion. I have a friend from saudi arabia, where they apply parts of the sharia, i asked him if he seen people without hands all the time . he said, never seen anyone that has had their hand amputated because of theft. people know to not do that stuff, cause they know the punishment. people dont even lock their houses at night, jewelery stores remain open while people go to the mosque to pray.

I don't have any official information, but I heard from a trustworthy source that in Saudi Arabia, the punishment for a woman adulterer is death by stoning. The punishment for a male adulterer (if the woman he had an affair with was not married)...is nothing.

I'm willing to bet that most of you Atheists once believed in God! It's only natural to have such a belief in God. There isn't anything to shake my faith in God. Do you atheist believe in justice? And if so, do consider a person who has killed, raped, robbed, cheated while they were alive and never punished for it on this earth are simply "lucky"? Actually there are stats for that in the US. Although Atheists make up nearly 20% of the population they represent roughly 0.02% of the prison population. On top of that violent crime statistics worldwide are lower in countries with higher secular populations. The real question is all4salam is would YOU do all those crimes you mentioned if it was against your god's law?

First off...the Big Bang was not an explosion. Secondly let's look at how orderly an explosion actually is. Material moves away from it's center. In a gravity environment larger debris does not travel as far. All of the amterial will settle to the ground eventually. Heavier material will come down first. You can expect to experience heat. You don't want to be standing next to it when it happens...the point is even here we see expected natural processes and order.
Atheists are just arrogant and filled with their own pride. There is nothing you can say or show to me that God dosen't exist. PERIOD. Truly I am drawn to many of Islam's Nasheed's that bring a tear to my eye and some of the Scientific verses in the Qu'ran... Umm no. I'm saying this from experience. I haven't heard of one single scholar who has left Islam for something else. While major scholars of other religions do this all the time. Many of them choose Islam. Their rejection doesn't affect me, but it does them. They mightve been muslim at some point, but they were jahil - ignorant of their religion. The only religion that makes sense is Islam. Now if you're atheist, then you have other issues.

The thing about throwing a bomb to create a Mercedez though is a totally ignorant misrepresentation of the Big Bang, it works for those that aren't educated as to it. Scientists have been able to create Single Cells from test tubes. It doesn't prove it because we have yet to be able to sucessfully do it using the exact same material that the Big Bang used. However, when you can create a single life form from a test tube that's impressive.

I don't think theft and drinking or adultery are issues that should cause a person to loose a limb of their own body. Rape and murder I can understand a bit more and agree the West does not deal with violent crimes the way they should. I hear statistics on the west and not where Sharia Laws are all the time so it is difficult to compare. I will look at any ebook or anything you want to send me, as I very interested in Islam at this time in my life. Thanks.

I have a friend from saudi arabia, where they apply parts of the sharia, i asked him if he seen people without hands all the time . he said, never seen anyone that has had their hand amputated because of theft. people know to not do that stuff, cause they know the punishment. people dont even lock their houses at night, jewelery stores remain open while people go to the mosque to pray.

Even in afghanistan while the taliban were in control, they took a journalist from his car, he thought they were gonna kill him, but they treated him like a king, his car door was left open and his possessions were in the car, a few days later they took him back to his car and all his money and stuff was left untouched, they wanted to show him how perfect islam and sharia is. In the west if you leave you car i don't need to say what will happen

btw, people dont lose anything for drinking, but they are lashed in public. its more of a humiliation than punishment. and the crime to be punished, it pretty much has to be in public, since there are 4 witnesses needed for most of these crimes. a non-muslim can drink in an islamic state inside his house. its for the general welfare of the society. i think its been mentioned before. there are more murdered per week in new york, than a year or more in all of saudi.

Just the fact that moral/physical punishment is encouraged in a religion makes it wrong. This is what people would do during the Medieval and Antiquity... Today = 21 century, it's time to wake up... or at the VERY least, adapt to contemporary societies...

Just like gravity is a fact and the theories that explain this fact are Newton's theory of Universal Gravitation and Einstein's theory of General Relativity. Or do you doubt those theories too?

the missing links? If they are found, then they're no longer missing. There are however many what you might call missing links that have been found. We have many transitional forms from early apes to humans. You just don't want to see this, so you say it doesn't exist. That doesn't mean there are no transitional forms.

I see humans, no matter what there faith, doing good and bad deeds at the same rate. A belief in a god does NOT make a person more or less moral (although the less could be arguable in some situations). You believe morals come from god and that's utter garbage. Altruistic behavior is perfectly explainable with no need for the supernatural.

Actually there are stats for that in the US. Although Atheists make up nearly 20% of the population they represent roughly 0.02% of the prison population. On top of that violent crime statistics worldwide are lower in countries with higher secular populations. The real question is all4salam is would YOU do all those crimes you mentioned if it was against your god's law?

What? I as an atheist respect other people, their rights, etc. My moral code is based on man's life. I don't want a society of murderers, so I don't murder. But also I have a "good" heart and I simply don't want to murder. If you want to kill, no god will stop you!!! But even if I had no morals, every society has laws that prevent rape, stealing, false witnessing. You can't do these things and get away with it. Come back down to earthborn reality. You live in the next world already.

First off...the Big Bang was not an explosion. Secondly let's look at how orderly an explosion actually is. Material moves away from it's center. In a gravity environment larger debris does not travel as far. All of the amterial will settle to the ground eventually. Heavier material will come down first. You can expect to experience heat. You don't want to be standing next to it when it happens...the point is even here we see expected natural processes and order.

Due to something called "logic" the Onus of Proof rule requires that the onus is upon he who asserts the positive (YOU). If no evidence is presented, then no test can be performed, and the hypothesis is still-born. I, on the other hand, am asserting that God does not exist. Surely no evidence of a NOTHING is required or could be expected. You evade logic and your God is simply a nothing and a zero.

It's SCIENCE that is working on these problems, but it's a slow wonderful process of discovery. Trial and error. We can have no idea what was before the big bang until we go looking and testing. 200 years ago no one knew about Quantum theory.
Science doesn't have the answers yet, and religions certainly don't. Religions say they have the answers. While science actually goes looking for them.

So you get to athiests by showing complexity of the universe, body, etc? This is called "argument from complexity" and is not an argument at all. It is easily defeated by the athist simply asking who created the most complex thing you can ever imagine, "god," and who created god's creator, to infinite regress. And even if you are correct about some "design", the design is not an argument for any specific god, deity or religion.

I don't dismiss the idea at all. I don't believe it because I have no reason too. I'd be happy to believe it if I saw proof that I felt was convincing. Same with ghosts and psychic powers.
