Fallout 3 - Getting General Jingwei's Uniform - Operation Anchorage

I'm going to try this when I make a melee character. It's like Lo Wang with the Ninja skill. ;)

Currently doing Unarmed + Energy weapons tags and it's a... pain! But once you get the ammo and power gloves, it's sweet to pound away at Super Mutant Brutes on Very Hard difficulty using no ammo! Big Guns is a good tag for that, heh?

I'll probably go melee+explosives for 2 of the tags if I do this exploit.

I just did this and can confirm that it's possible to bring the Chinese Commando Hat out of the simulation. It's not the same as Jingwei's (it's the winterized one the regular Chinese soldiers have in the simulation), but it IS a non-degrading piece of Chinese military headgear.

The stats are nothing to brag about (1 DR and +1 PER), but again, it's better than nothing.

You won't get the hat he's wearing, but you CAN get a non-degradable Chinese Commando Hat from the simulation. When you're heading to the Chimera Depot at the start of Paving the Way, look around some sandbags very close to where you started. - The hat is sitting on top of some of them.

i got the chinese hat from mothership zeta and a suit from some chinese ghouls,running around with a chinese assault rifle and pistol xD

In the mothership Zeta DLC there is one part where you have have multiple test tubes filled with raiders and ghouls,there is a room you can enter with a button to open all the tubes(dw the ghouls and raiders will fight each other then they'll come after you) in this room you can override a door switch(do this) and you'll enter a small room with a red chinese winter hat(sickle and hammer sign on it) and some ammo + space crystals ,Good hunting ;)

You can only do the simulation once, if you already did it you have to start a new game to re-do it. Sorry.

:P Thanks, the suitcases really dont mean THAT much in the end. Just gives you a few small bonus's. But I was going for a 100% completion of the game, 100 in every skill, 10 in each Special, every unique weapon, and armor. And as many perks as I could get. Unless you wanna be like that, the suitcases arent essential :]

@bigboizism Well you're not meant to get the stuff from Anchorage, and it never breaks down, so that said, if you loot the RIGHT items, it makes half of all of it worth the effort, but I prefer to just get the stuff from the armory than do all that stuff, mostly because if you mess one thing up, you gotta do it all again. i.e. putting Gary 23's body in a wrong position, i.e. the game glitching on you.

Some weapons like the minigun, fatman, etc cannot be pocketed from the t51b soldiers. They just start attacking you

A small tip for everyone, for those with low sneak level, cripple JIngwei's head with a weapon that wont kill him too quickly, (a 10mm for example) and this will allow you to become hidden from him more easily. Then ofcourse cripple one of his legs.

@soldierassasin when you are getting the gear you choosed from the guy at the armory, there will be a speech check,i can´t remember exactly what it said ( you wanted something with more fire power i think) and he gies you the gun...

YEEES i found a way!!!

here's what you gotta do, make sure you don't have Dergant Montgomery with you (play until you're supposed to go to the emp field, but don't talk to him) and use the Gauss Rifle to shoot some chinese guy's weapon (the chinese ar of course) until he is knocked down

then you just take his ammo, and put another weapon with ammo for it in his inv. he'll now equip it and you can shoot it and knock him down again, then take his rifle! AMAZING!

HEY GUYS, LISTEN UP!

another great glitch you can do with Gary 23 is you go to any ammo dispenser and you click it to get maximum ammo, then you just drop all the ammo and repeat, then pick up all the ammo on the ground! you can get basically infinite 10mm, .308, 5.56mm and shotgun ammo.

if you're planning on taking this to the extreme levels, remember that if you drop one ammo pack (any ammo) with more than 37'000 bullets in it, it WILL glitch and drop straight through the floor!

Its part of another glitch... When you get your weapons holotape, you go, get the weapons, drop them on the ground, get another holotape and repeat. That way in the end you have a bunch of weapons on the ground which you can pick up :3 Works the same with the ammo dispensers.. just keep dropping the ammo. I have 80,000 rounds on my chinese AR due to this glitch. If you can combine the gary glitch and ammo glitch, you are all set.

@thefatass500 Actually, if you have an Xbox 360, when you complete the simulation there is a T-51 winterized with unlimted health behind the locked door. The devolplers messed up and there you go.

Unless you have the "steam" version of fallout 3 (Pc only) I doubt its pactched. if you have the windows, xbox, etc... versions they are fine. No patches :) If you have the pc you can just enter the console command to get them though...

It is possible to get 3, yes 3, that is not a typo. To do it you must kill the quartermaster so get as many weapons as you want from him first. As soon as you leave chases tent pickpocket the quartermaster and give him your armor. For some unknown reason it adds 2. Then tell benji to go somewhere out of sight and kill the quartermaster. Now search his body and hit TAKE ALL. YOU MUST HIT TAKE ALL OR IT WILL NOT WORK. The only downside is that you can only get 1 helmet. Hope this helps :)

i think when you kill the quartermaster, if you do take all instead of item per item, u get a second combat armor due to a glich, im not sure if this always happens though

@LordOfSkits No it does not mess up your game and yes you do get the rest of the items as usual. This video doesn't go into the Gary-23 glitch in too much detail (it's focused on the uniform) but I highly recommend it.

The rate they degrade is rediculous though. Lets say a normal ar has 100 hp. It degrades after 1 hour or so of using it constantly. Something from anchorage has about 1,000,000hp in the entire game of you using it. It may only go down about 1 or 2 caps in value.

i tried the glitch on the ps3 and it doesnt work when i exit the simulation i dont seem to get that period where you're still in the hope i directly exit the pod right after

Did you make sure the body was on the foot rest, you were looking down when you entered the simulation, and at the end when your exiting and the game is loading you look down and tap X as fast as you can? Because it does work on PS3 a friend just tried it a little bit ago

thanks i did this but i just hid behind the boxes in the Chinese HQ until i was hidden and then i took the suit and placed a mine in his pants so he dropped his sword so you dont have to shoot it out of his hand :)
