i was not aware that edie spent her last years in the b harbour section of the bch.i used to see a woman with a thin sweater wrapped around her head with a brooch on the top of it. her eyes were always made up cleopatra style and she appeared to be in a haze...maybe she was thinking about grey gardens.i;m happy to know that she was able to get that sun and surf she loved.unaware who she was.she did not look happy sorry to say..but she wore that damn sweater and brooch on her head to the end..

THis works so well. Sad and perfect and beautiful. Women acting the dream of what it is to be a woman as the grey old day makes them look edgy, desperate, they are only clutching desperatly to a dream they have all been told is the only thing worth clutching at. I love it when Edie says its the best costume for the day, she says costume, not outfit, she knows all there is left is acting, an act, as the reality of weeds attach themselves to her feet.
