Dumb. I was walking through the park when this went on. There was a large expensive camera on a boom and whole camera crew behind it. Corporate sponsored bs-and it still wasn't even good. I am sure Bloomberg was peeping out his office window and thought it was very creative art along with the rest of the avant garde sculptures strewn about. Rant.

Yes, it was 'corporate advertising'. But that doesn't negate the fact that it was a bonding experience and aLOT of fun. All who participated are professional dancers.Not sure if you're aware of what a hard profession that is, so instead of making a remark like " care about something other than ourselves", how bout just support the fact that in hard times, we all booked a job! Like ALL flash mobs it had to be choreographed & rehearsed and like ALL flash mobs the surprise element was real.

This was the flash mob taken to a whole new level. They realized that the effect of the dance in the real world with good casting, all talented performers, such a vibrant video! yeah. unfortunately, this particular flash mob is, of course, just viral marketing for Malibu. but when they actually happen, they are pretty swell. the only problem i have with them is that they are too often very organized/choreographed. this hardly gives incentive for passers-by to join in unrestricted dance. If the original organizers just offered unrestricted personal dancing, more witnesses would probably join.

@Stolesher it did happen for real... it's a flash mob, lots of people practice hence the word mob which is why you see a lot of people doing the dance at the end, that's just how they work, it starts with 1 person then more and more of the people that practiced join in, hardly any flash mobs have people that aren't part of it join in.
