I've done a lot of runs on that road... I really miss it! I never had my own Dirk so I always drove out in advance and dropped bottles and gels for myself. Keep your head down when you go over the cattle guards!
I got into running mainly to lift my spirits and to give me a compelling reason to never smoke another cigarette. After many, many, many hours and miles, I can fairly comfortably maintain a 7 minute mile pace for a good while. I simply cannot fathom running as fast as these guys. I don't think my scarred lungs will ever achieve that level of efficiency. Jeez. Still . . . I'll never be Michael Jordan either, but I love basketball.
are there any videos on his diet?

What's most impressive to me is these mile splits are at altitude like that.

Ridiculous. I ran a mile in 4:55 and was pretty spent. I'd love to be able to have splits within seconds apart.

My heart would explode at that pace.

If you keep trying and running like you said you do you could get near this level, Altitude training would be great for you too.
