  • one of the few actually sincere artists on youtube. thank god he teaches!

  • I feel very normal. I have learned about optical art school, but I can do.

  • please tell me what kind of pencil you us:):)

  • I loved it !

    Thanks

    Zizi

  • Love these tutorials! great help. this website has like everything.

  • wat about the hand with the middle finger stands tall :D

  • oh my gosh Amazing

  • no la dibujaste en el video... solo remarcas algunas cosas con el lápiz

  • I see what you mean, thank you for taking time to explain it )

  • Whats cross hatching?

  • @Rastel888 cross hatching is when you make lines that are parallel to eachother and over lap each other to get darker to make shadows look at his arm near start of vid notice the lines representing shadow that is cross hatching. It is really noticable in comics when they cross hatch for shadows. ( sorry I am bad explainer with a paper in front to show you >.<)

  • What kind of pencil are you using?

  • lame mate, redrawing from picture can kids age 10 and its soo not advantegous:)

  • @TheStrawDe Hmm as an artist myself I can tell you it's not always as easy as it looks. You should try it sometime and post your results. I assume you're older than 10? :D

  • @TheStrawDe Have you even tried yourself? Seems not. Please make a video when you draw a hand identical to a photo and make it look real, harder than you think. And the video isn't called ''how-to-draw-a-hand-not-using-a-picture. YOU'RE the one who's lame, you have to watch videos of how to draw. Facepalm

  • @Xajtenify, I still think its not hard to copy whatever, Facepalm dudes:P, Matt s video is best exeple

  • حلوة اوي بس انا عايزة الرسمة من الاول مش من وسطها كدة

  • maldicion, dibujas muy bienn, aunque me hubiera gustado que explicaras cómo lo hiciste :D

  • why don't you try to work from your real hand?

  • ما يعرف

    الرسمة بايخة

  • Good illustration lesson!

  • really good drawing:P please check out my video ans leave tips??

  • PRO o_O

  • and yes I have had a piece in the Florida museum of art

  • @vinlahadin2 There is no museum known as the Florida Museum of Art. Nice try though.

  • @buzzmoe10 ...try museumoffloridaart org

  • Comment removed

  • that was ok ut i have a feeling that you dont have too much natural talent just a lot of schooling

  • i suppose you must be real good at drawing..or something..right?

  • @vinlahadin2 RivenPhoenix is just like this poser as well. Mark Crilley for life!!

  • Seriously? Mark Crilley for life? Mark is good at what he does but LMAO comparing a manga artist to a fine artist and calling the manga artist the better one, that's just too ridiculous for words. Hahaha, sad sad sad.

  • If your mind is set on the concept of talent then you have no idea what you're talking about, at all. Talent is a load of bullshit. You probably suck at drawing and come here to troll someone who can, because obviously you have nothing to back up your statements.

  • Tell please, which pencil in a hand at the artist. HB or any another? How the pencil is called?

  • Col-Erase Pencil is what Matt is using.

  • holy shit omfg you draw way too good

  • @boypaslot go search for me drawing a hands not hot to draw a hand

  • @boypaslot Its only a sample of the actual tutorial, on his site he has the full version

  • @boypaslot

A good magician never reveals his secrets ;)

  • @boypaslot

    i know right!!!

  • nice drawing mate.. but for people learning to draw.. i would recomend drawing a real hand.. your own hands/feet. not from picture.. never from a picture..

  • What pencil is he using?

  • you should show it from the very beginning ...

  • this hand looks real...much better than mine...my hands are looking like wieners...or something like that...

  • wtf u made me laugh. :)

  • why ?

I know my english is really bad...

  • because u said ur hands look like wieners. :)

  • eh yeah of course ...my wiener -Hands this is soo bad I can draw people not bad but the fu***ing Hands and the Noses but thei are not so bad...Í´m 14 years old I think I´ll learn it anytime...just like I´ll learn English...haha

  • Hand and feet can be one of the most difficult things to draw...AND one of the expressive!!! They say SOOOO much!!! Thats why, in the cheap cartoons--you only see 4 fingers--not joking, check) Disney--in Snow White--there is 5....and It does take time..and it's hard as heck..keep trying..you'll get it!! I'm still struggling too, and I'm 47 Good Luck!!

  • oh...yeah...thank you^^

  • ^haha alter

  • You're the new Leonardo Da Vinci!

  • لااله الا الله هل تعرف الاسلام

  • is that a real hand? xD jking

  • OMG nice and you sound like the therepost from goerge lopez haha XD 5/5

  • great job, thanks for the atvise! what pencil type do you use???

  • Nice stuff here dude..

  • such a beautiful technique. Simple, but it works so well!

  • its sorta good, but there isnt enough shading and the drawing looks blocky.

it needs to be softer in the lines and darker

  • Nice video and nice draw.

I would like know what kind of pencil is it?.

  • Some kind of black prism colored pencil.

  • Prismacolour black

  • its a black Col-Erase pencil

  • perfect!

  • single word, INSPIRING! but this is almost a finished work. if only i cold see more beginning of it :(

  • agree

  • i have a question. well while drawing my hand sometimes moves really fast, like when i'm doin the lines (short ones for the shadows) it gets sometimes freaky fast at once and then i get a long lines between the short ones. what should i do ????

  • take a deep breath and count to 10 , works for me

  • no i dont like this video oO

its just becouse,it could be beter, dont mark me as a spam, but lol i've read more than enough books and watched and drawing things and hands and.... kind of,hand stinks, lol i mean it is good but.......for my taste you dont do enough shadows, but hey, everyone gots its own taste. And thumb looks like a cube

once again dont mark me as a spam :3

  • nice :-)

  • i notice when you were shading, you shaded with the flow or shape of the hand like where the palm is that is the techique that i use

  • dam this guy is on point, not only are u watching/hearing how to draw, but ur also learning sum scientific stuff like wen he is talkin about da metacarpuls, i mean smart dude and talented.. stay up

  • for realistic art, its best to know anatomy

  • this guy is going to be favorite artest and i'm a beginner portrait artest

  • that looks like Mimi's hand from rent lol at the end when you think she'd dead and it twitches :O

  • i went to your page and why did you draw a naked lady

  • you should understand that for a good artist, the human body isn't embarassing or weird.

  • nudity is the most simplest yet beautiful art, but in a non perverted way..yea sure you could beat off to a peice of paper with some tits or whatever on it, but the body is the most complex yet simplest thing to draw out and map.

  • nice ^^ =)

  • k cool i just finished this it took like 1hour first time tho i got others look at my acount

  • oh... :) ok thanks for info :)

  • man if you wanna make a good tutorial and show how to draw a hand then you should start from Zer0

  • i think it is only a sample to watch the whole tutorial from start to finish you have to become a member on his site, which by the way has heaps of awesome stuff.

  • Nice, hands to me arent as bad as the feeth though i suck at the feet XS great vids and tips my friend

  • wow thats so good very good very very very good

  • It's like........magical! :D So cool! beautifully done, you should make movies! I would buy them.

  • wow thats great :)... what kind of pencil is that? only one pencil??

  • Kudos Matthew!

    Superb work!

    I'm impressed

    Blessings,

    Vesna

  • Do you believe on this pure shet? I am not afraid of ghosts since i am talking to what will be a future ghost... You ntin05 will be caught by a real deadman watch your nightmare. I hate people who come and post this like you. Thats why you will have some nightmares maybe not today, not tomorrow, but certainly before 19th February of 2009, I have got supernatural contacts... BEWARE!

    But wait... Dont be afraid...

    BE TERRIFIED!!!

    FJIA!·$·90dfDSD-E.A,Dfasdntin05321..sdd. bye

  • Atlantida008, you are gay man, cuz that Is AWESOME!! It looks exactly like the picture.5/5

  • I know how draw hand but drawing them a different angle is tricky part?

  • Mr junkie, buy yourself a sketch pad. Fill it with drawings of hands, from photos, but also from life (your own hand, while it sits on a table infront of you) observe videos, attend life study drawing classes. You'll get there, everyone can do it.

  • wow, that hand is a masterpiece!

  • Dude you are amazing. I've always wanted to be an artist and dont get me wrong i can draw but sometimes i just dont draw for like months and its so hard to get back in it. So thats what makes me amazed is an artist who keeps going- great job.

  • true, somethimes you really dont want to draw. the reason for that is: when u draw, you wont be happy with your result everythime, it takes a lot of time to get good enough skills to be happy with every result. (believe me).

watch some videos and learn, use a 3D program to find more about shadows, etc.. (helped for me)

ZBrush is a really nice and powerful tool, after one week with training and failing, u will be able to make really detailed characters ;)

  • you can clearly know that ilovezexion1 does not know nothing about drawing

  • very nice, reminds me of burne hogarth

  • It's a short demonstration drawing. I made the wrist and hand a bit more squarish to emphasize surface planes to show dimension.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • Nice rendering and construction control...can you do this to the same level of finish without using a photo. I would like to see this done from life observation, i.e. a real person's hand while they pose for you. Again, nice skills.

  • dude u have no idea what ur talking about its all about structure thats how u get from point a to b u need to know this stuff u dont just draw, u need knowledge behind ur art and thats where the anatomy, perspective, and gesture come into play

  • @ilovezexion1 Your face is gonna look squarish... (You take the E away too, by the way)...

  • what utensels do you use?

  • Very nice actually

  • I'm gonna buy your instructional DVD,and as I can see these posts of yours are from that one.Can you tell me, if you plan to post to youtube every part covered in the DVD? İf so I'll wait...not buy...ha ha...

  • adding on to the genetic aspect. My brother is currently in college and is double majoring in photography and graphic design and is very talented at it. I can draw. Drawing is my passion and 4x times better than my brother. On the other hand, my sister who has graduated from college has no artistic ability. Her major was business(no creative talent).

  • where is part one?

  • I think not every gift u can learn especially in arts,u can draw or not^^lol

    Thats some how genetic^^

  • HAha! Yes it is somehow genetic. My bro always asks y I can draw and he can't, if we came 4m the same parents lol.

  • ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

  • oh hahahaha, i looked it up xDD yes very funny.. ;) hope u enjoyed hahaha :D

  • why brother ;D i am female :D:D LOL

  • OMG, Lmao, K sister thanks

  • nice ^^ =)

  • Thanks Brother.

  • Thanks, this helps alot :)

    ★★★★★

  • :o holy crap!

  • I want to know, where do you learn all this ? I mean, I'm a amateur with no school studies in art, but I draw somehow well. But I never thought to learn drawing this way, so where do you learn that ? By yourself or with school ? Thx for the info.

  • I learned a base of knowledge in college. But that was not enough. I learned most of what I know from working on hundreds of paintings for illustration jobs. I've made every mistake there is to make but I have learned from doing. I constantly work to improve my skills. Hope this helps, check out my website I offer coaching.

  • Wonderful! Thanks for your guidance!

  • Do you draw with TomBow Mono Professionals?

  • Why is my post marked down? They're excellent pencils!
