Your bass response could improve with a couple separate sub cabs. What you have is just regular Pa cabs and they are meant for mid too high end frequencies.
I have 2 jbl speakers 2000 watts each so 4000 total (voice) and 2 peavey Subwoofers 3200 watts each. 6,400 watts for both subs. And laser lights with fog machine, video projector, and more
i personaly would not run parcans, they are to much light. and not enough effect. but still sweet guys and are you runing DMX caus it dose not seem like it and if you are it needs some work haha hey but its sick that you can run fog in your shows most of the gigs iv been to they wouldnt let us run fog "no ventalation... it was bull haha
your set up is ok with the par cans but you didn't need the mirror balls unless you were to set it up somwhere else in the hall and by seeing your equipment im surprised that you havn't bought any scanners or any type of DMX light because they are so much better.
@plsdidcodj Actually we have. We have completely converted to LED lights with a set of scanners. We ditched the mirror balls and par cans. You should check out our latest videos.
@jmule09 now- you do have alot of lights- but it kinda kills it when you cant see anything, i mean clubs even has house lights turned on, when i DJ most of the time they have dimmer switches if not their is an emergency light always on. so next time keep acouple lights on ( house lights) it helps, it well get the crowed or whoever your DJing for more self confidence to dance.. Because they can see more and have a less chance in bumping into someone else. Awesome set up
Looks like your emphasizing on the wrong thing. Excessive lighting don't make the dj. Skill does. I think you should worry a little less about the excessive lighting and worry about improving your sound. The Peaveys were out of date and you had lower level JBL's. You could rock a party with just 2 adj vertigo's on a stand and improve the speakers to rcf or qsc's with a dbx driverack.
*this goes to all who are negative against this* OLD VIDEO!!!!!!!!!! Not everyone can start out with a 30,000 watt E.A.W. system and Martin movers. Their setup looks pretty good then, and now. watch the new vids
sand storm was the last song i use a lazer and fog machine on that song .. any ways great set up ,,u guys have it down right ,, i,m a tough judge ,, but u guys kick ass ,, keep it up... i,ve been a dj for 15 years and i like what i just saw ...
Is funny how the responses i read about how "crappy" the sound is on some of the videos on here. The sound your hearing is coming out from a recording of a camcorder. Wake up people!!!.
nice setup. gets me siked for my own party next month.
3 sound systems that typically break windows wherever we are (had it happen twice at 2 parties with only one of them, and i have a huge crack across my window next to one of the others) that are so powerful that we need to plug them into different circuits. As for lighting, 5 strobelights, syncronized with blue filters on two of them, six lasers on two disco balls, and two fog machines for thrills. And don't forget the glowsticks.
Your pissed? how Add me on myspace lukesgonz@gmail.com see da pics and there ya go? Dont get pissed And dont be a show off Cuz that didnt cost $7500hundred its like $5500hundred. mine was $1200 and How im talking shit? I dont do videos of my shit cuz i dont got a webcam I have one On my laptop thats what i use but dude just chill iight We are dj's I know a guy thats better then both of us. he has b-52 and more Shit he made someone house Out of power! anyway later And my stuff is low on lights
@lukerock22now that's just bad planning on that guys part. I would've done that too if i didn't know better than to split the system onto 2 power strips and use an extension cord to put one on the other side of the house. Tell him that, he might find it useful.
@lukerock22now alright man. I want to see your set-up. Pissed me off a little bit reading your comment to mine. You seem pretty annoying. I looked at your videos and saw jack shit about a DJ setup. All cod5 shit. Im sure if what yor setup actually is what it seems to be that I will be impressed, but I am convinced YOU couldn't have paid for it by yourself. My set-up is about 7,500 and it took a while to buy that, way over 4 years, and I still had help. btw, don't talk shit to people
@jmule09 the kid say hes 12..!! wut dus he play spong bob songs and dora the explorer...dumb ass kid....nice set up men..the techno wus awesum...keep it up
@lukerock22now haha your a douche the difference is jmule09 runs a business what do you do? play with your cheap citronic or skytec decks in your bedroom. Nice setup jmule09 similar to mine minus the mirror balls. You use midi controller or cd's?
I've been DJ'ing since 1992 and yes, i've mixed with casette tapes. My first rig used to be brought in using TWO vans full of speakers (15-18inch woofers), turntables, vinyls, lights, cables etc... These days, my entire rig fits inside a honda element. I use 2 "15inch powered speakers, Numark NS7, a small table and my macbook. Good to go in 15 minutes. No more 3 hours of set up and tear down. Thank God for technology...
I hate to be negative but I was kind of disappointed, after watching you set up all them lights I really thought it was going to look amazing but to be fair it wasn't that great. I don't have no where near the amount of lights you guys have but with 2 simple LED's & a kam mighty cluster lazer, I think i still get a very good effect. You should maybe look at cutting down a little bit. You guys did set that stuff up really fast though lol. I can't fault your organisation lol
Your setup needs to be updated and more portable. You're basically to bogged down with equipment and lighting. You really need to invest in a lighter, streamline setup with powered speakers. Trim down the lights by going with LEDs. Your objective is to be able to setup and breakdown in 20 mins or less. Some people are ragging on you guys so just block them out. But some of us are trying to give you guys good advice based on years of busting our ass and backs.
WTF are they doing??? I have never seen something like this, are they dancing or what??? Now I can say that north americans dance really bad! They dont even know how to dance. this is so stupid, look at the people on the dancefloor hahahahahahahahah lol lol lol lmao.
And this is for that people dancing, not for the video's owner. I'm sorr for this but I couldnt avoid it.
@961714 the song is "Sandstorm" by Darude, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive that it was the shortened radio edit. As compared to the Extended Remix.
i just inherited a lot of this same equipment and i want to start a service. how much did u charge per hour for this setup? lol sorry i'm a bit clueless on this stuff.
@jmule09 as wer asian djs we have bigger sets. like, projection screens, led backdrops, plasmas, lasers, pyrotecnics, i will send you and website privatley you can check it out.
Thats exactly what I do. Single play= 225, Double Play=255, Triple play=285, and Home Run=300. Each hour they go over the said time is 100 dollars more except the Home run which is 150 dollars more.
@nawasharjattuk contracts arent a good idea. people get nervous about them and will often as for insurance. as we as "packages" those arent such a good idea either. it makes things too complecated for the customer
I really expected to see much more light thrown out by that setup. Your mirror balls disappeared! It only really looked the part when the strobe kicked in. I'd suggest investing in a gantry that you could raise up higher than your existing light bar. Well done all the same.
@dazzlin1974 i suggest dicthing all them lights and go straight too using scanners or moving heads. pointless in seting that many lights up and they dont light the room up.
get rid of the crappy dual 15s and get some nice subs, it will sound and look much better. All those lights should only be brought out if the customer pays for them, its nice to impress people but its just not worth it.
nice setup but it is over kill with lights and speakers and takes you too long to set up and think that used to be me 20yrs ago. and yes i still have the overkill effect but it cost in today's down economy i do more with less most customers don't care about all that. and they can be wowed very easily
Looks good Guys. I like to have a good light show, but also incorporate the crowd when I perform. Looks like you do that. Sometimes spending alot on expensive lights covers up sub-par entertainers. If you 2 are part-time like me, you just do what you like and don't worry about haters
It takes 45 minutes. Do you really think it takes 4 hours? It takes time to properly set up. If it takes you 5 minutes to setup you must have the smallest setup in the world
if you kknow so much about sound running it in mono will ruin your speakers over time. it distorts after a while stick with stereo. one thing i recommend is running a crossover for your 18's for bass and run 15's mids an highs sound quality will be much better with less strain on amps jus a suggestion.
duuuuude what are you doing!!! setup needs major work bro. i havent done major DJing before but I DO know lots about sound... for larger venues i actually do something sorta rare?
i run 2 S115v speakers
2 S118s subwoofer (well need to purchase)
2 RMX 1850HD. Run both in bridged mono (most wattage, and best coverage)
i find running in mono reduces uneven coverage.. i dont care if songs are recorded in stereo... if youre in front of the left speaker you wont know whats goin on in the right! pce
light set up is horrible. all t hat work for some blinking par cans and 2 vertigos. What exactly was the mirror ball for, looks? It looks old school and you need some work.
looks to me he's doin a decent job, kids are rockin the floor...isn't that the primary job as a DJ? Read the crowd & keep them happy even if the DJ dislikes some of the music he has to play...& he plays all types of genre. All you haters stop being so narrow minded, a good DJ doesn't have to be a scratch or house DJ. I'd much rather listen to a DJ who plays for the crowd & keeps the party rocking than a DJ who plays to himself & keeps the dancefloor empty. Keep doin your thing DJ.
the lighting equipment doesn't look very professional really. i think some scanners or a couple of moving heads should be added. but i got a glance at your pa and sound setup and that looks pretty good.
instead of expensive par cans, i got 4 150w halogen spotlights (from diy shop £5 each) put colored filters inside, and run them from a cheap £20 NJD controller, and they work great,
cool. it looks like a lot of hard work. i have one of those light stands with the bar across the middle but i have no idea how to set it up. do you think you can give me some pointers?
Mirror balls are too low and the lights are really boring and its pretty dark! ...Aapart from that, good job - I can't talk, I've only got 2 lights lol!
I know this may sound pointless but where did you get those blue (what appear to be RubberMaid) totes from? I need to get one and I cant find it ANYWHERE
I'M lacking in lights, don't get me wrong I've got Huge speakers with 20's,600 watt reciever, & w/ Equilizers and I can get the party jumpin but I need more Lights.
i could see how a light show puts people in a party mod, i have one qsc 18 inch sub and i'll never leave home with out that monster, how ever im seriously lacking lights!
Yeah it's a good set-up guys. personaly i don't see the point of using goalposts when you can just use a load of t-bars but you got a good set-up... what amps you using?
I like it. Is that really how they dance in Kansas ???

nice setup but it is over kill with lights and speakers and takes you too long to set up and think that used to be me 20yrs ago. and yes i still have the overkill effect but it cost in today's down economy i do more with less most customers don't care about all that. and they can be wowed very easily
bigantphoto 2 years ago 2
I agree. Why do all the work? Get some small LED fixtures and powered speakers ..... Easy !!!!

Nice Setup broo!!

I saw, that you connect all to something black...
thanks

Looks good Guys. I like to have a good light show, but also incorporate the crowd when I perform. Looks like you do that. Sometimes spending alot on expensive lights covers up sub-par entertainers. If you 2 are part-time like me, you just do what you like and don't worry about haters

nice set up however the lights look like crap

TOO MUCH WORK, When you can get it down to less than 5 min, using one man than you can post a vid, anyone can take 4 hours with 2 guys com on.
SingJiya 2 years ago
It takes 45 minutes. Do you really think it takes 4 hours? It takes time to properly set up. If it takes you 5 minutes to setup you must have the smallest setup in the world
jmule09 2 years ago
if you kknow so much about sound running it in mono will ruin your speakers over time. it distorts after a while stick with stereo. one thing i recommend is running a crossover for your 18's for bass and run 15's mids an highs sound quality will be much better with less strain on amps jus a suggestion.
bigboydjs 2 years ago
duuuuude what are you doing!!! setup needs major work bro. i havent done major DJing before but I DO know lots about sound... for larger venues i actually do something sorta rare?
i run 2 S115v speakers
2 S118s subwoofer (well need to purchase)
2 RMX 1850HD. Run both in bridged mono (most wattage, and best coverage)
i find running in mono reduces uneven coverage.. i dont care if songs are recorded in stereo... if youre in front of the left speaker you wont know whats goin on in the right! pce

light set up is horrible. all t hat work for some blinking par cans and 2 vertigos. What exactly was the mirror ball for, looks? It looks old school and you need some work.

nice set up horrible music
solidrecording2012 2 years ago
looks to me he's doin a decent job, kids are rockin the floor...isn't that the primary job as a DJ? Read the crowd & keep them happy even if the DJ dislikes some of the music he has to play...& he plays all types of genre. All you haters stop being so narrow minded, a good DJ doesn't have to be a scratch or house DJ. I'd much rather listen to a DJ who plays for the crowd & keeps the party rocking than a DJ who plays to himself & keeps the dancefloor empty. Keep doin your thing DJ.

the setup looked alright, but mannn that has to be the lamest party and the shittest music out...

the lighting equipment doesn't look very professional really. i think some scanners or a couple of moving heads should be added. but i got a glance at your pa and sound setup and that looks pretty good.
lloydc199207 2 years ago
instead of expensive par cans, i got 4 150w halogen spotlights (from diy shop £5 each) put colored filters inside, and run them from a cheap £20 NJD controller, and they work great,
but get very hot

djstellth 2 years ago
this setup took us over an hour to setup but our new setup can be done in less than 45 minutes
jmule09 2 years ago
maybe u should see my setups
planetdisco08 2 years ago
was that at full volume, because it seems very underpowered, needs to have more of a low end....
do you have subs?
might just be the mic.....
mixinislife 2 years ago
there's nothing worse than a good setup but no low end....
the sound just has no energy... maybe some subs needed....
mixinislife 2 years ago 9
Actually we just got some. Thanks though
jmule09 2 years ago
oh kool, well...
you got a tight setup then :P:P
just got my hands on some new lights, ill get them rigged up n make a video or something :P
nice one
mixinislife 2 years ago
@mixinislife I agree. It's not even like the song's bass is that low, it peaks at 41hz. (talking about the Baby Bash track)
Nirvalica 1 year ago
Mirror balls are too low and the lights are really boring and its pretty dark! ...Aapart from that, good job - I can't talk, I've only got 2 lights lol!

I'M lacking in lights, don't get me wrong I've got Huge speakers with 20's,600 watt reciever, & w/ Equilizers and I can get the party jumpin but I need more Lights.
Mecka303 3 years ago
heh, you're djing with a home audio receiver? thats rough man.
0verload 3 years ago
Yeah man, you need to get an amp ;)
knardini 3 years ago
Nice setup.
however for a room like that, there is no need for all that gear.
if you invest in higher end sound you would not need all those speakers to cover a room like that
AshKrikorian 3 years ago
dude thats cool man i'm starting out and it really looks like you guys did a good job

Yeah it's a good set-up guys. personaly i don't see the point of using goalposts when you can just use a load of t-bars but you got a good set-up... what amps you using?
