sabi nya naman "pay them with cat food" he didn't say feed them with cat food. malay nyo naman may mga alagang pusa ung mga hinire nilang theater actors.. hehe.. :D
masyado lang napalaki ang issue...but he was just exaggerating the truth...well...good for him...nakilala siya...publicity is publicity...good man or bad...
mga tinamaan dyan magising na kayo dahil totoo ang sinabi ni direk rafa..patama yan sa mga trying hard na susyalera at susyalerong talentless displays ng pinilakang tabing.
I've been in theater and I don't find this offensive, it's the truth theater actors are generally cowboy. I think who should be offended in his statement are the tv personalities because he said theater actors don't COMPLAIN.
Hello Philippines, have you met Sarcasm? He's actually a pretty funny guy. You should get to know him better. He's got a lot of fans in other parts of the world.
@Blavat666 Well, at least I can actually form complete sentences that makes sense with minimal errors. Di katulad mo na parang unggoy mag-isip at mag-type! ehehehehehe....
Basura at ungoy? That's the extent of what your superior mind can come up with? (Now that was an actual insulting sarcasm in case di mo nanaman gets.) So sad...
@Blavat666 Try mong panoorin ang David Letterman, baka ma gets mo sinasabi ko. I'm just saying na nakalimutan niya na nasa Pilipinas siya. That's all po. Huwag masyadong mainit ang ulo.
it's a sarcastic statement which is mostly done in late night talk shows in America. kaya lang poblema niya, wala siya sa America tska hindi ito gets ng Pinoy. namaaan. if it was in the LATE SHOW with David Letterman, everyone would have laughed with him.
He didn't mean it as derogatory remarks. Just to illustrate na ganun na kababa ang tingin ng mga tao sa loob at labas ng industrya sa mga actors and crew na walang pangalan. The joke being na siya mismo yung nagpapakain ng skyflakes and Cat food sa mga stage actors that he works with. Funny!!
I think this guy feels like he is in America where he can get away with this kinds of Jokes. Too bad he's in the good old RP, where nobody gets Sarcasm.
@JayveeMargaja - Filipinos can take sarcasm, i think it's just that he said it like a boss referring to his underpaid employees and not like his colleagues which should have been the case.
@kirara5202 Not from what I've seen here. I was just commenting on the fact that if people here did get sarcasm, they'll just laugh with this guy's dry humor, like I did because it's sort of true, rather than responding with death treats and name calling.
Well on the flip side, I guess I was wrong when I said nobody gets sarcasm in The Philippines because I get his sarcasm and I'm in The Philippines. So there... HIHIhihihihiheheheheheh!!!
@kirara5202 Last na... the part where he was like a boss referring to his underpaid employees and not like his colleagues which should have been the case was the sarcastic part. Just to drive home a point.
Ok, nuff said. He apologized na din so we're cool? We're all cool? Ayt!....
What a horrible fail of an attempt to be tongue-in-cheek funny. What arrogance and inordinate sense of entitlement causes a person to talk like this about people who gave of themselves to contribute to his success? He should be stripped of his Cinemalaya trophy. This is an excellent example of how Filipino artists should NOT be treating each other, and how merely blabbing in English with a passable American-ish accent does not automatically guarantee that you'll come across with class. Terrible.
@abrahammandac joke in bad taste? nope. just dumb and ignorant. sorry. i dont usually resort to name calling, and im no longer an actor, but this is totally unacceptable. and nope, its pretty much english with Filipino accent. NOT COOL. NOT FUNNY.
@sakynesh agree with pretty much everything that you said except for the filipino accent. you made it sound like its something less than what it is, when it is a league of its own.
Ungrateful,Uneducated and an Asshole Son of a Bitch!!! People like you Rafa should be trusted by Actors... stage or Screen!!! You just betrayed them all and ruined your reputation as well!! I Feel Sorry For You!!!
Epek lang. He said it naman in a diplomatic way, somehow he has a point of saying that indirectly, mas better ang mga theater actors to handle.

some hate this conyo direktor for his joke on indie actors because their egos are hit right on.
some support this conyo direktor because he's obviously cute. like the bobos that support askals.
the obvious truth why these d-list directors hire indie actors is because they can never meet the quote of the mainstream actors.
so, all of you fighting here are just plain idiots
