I have a dodge charger a 2006 r/t I have 50,000 miles on my car but i didn't buy it new I bought it with 43,000 miles on it and I was wondering if it was true what they say about there transmission do they go out after a certain miles I love my car so is it what they say?
haha my friend totally romped the shit out of a cocky r/t owner whith a bolt on flashed civic si that dynoed at only 229hp( the front tires were just some cheap old ones 2) the chargers engine is nearly 3 times as big and it still lost by more than 4 car lengths if you want a fast family car thats faster and more economical get a civic si 4dr +real men use a clutch

@darktrooper2000 lol look at the power to wieght ratio (229hp wieghing 2,700lbs to around 340hp with 4,300+lbs) and with the si's launch control,close gear ratio, and the chargers sketchy traction control and typical dodge auto trani its basically a overhyped grandma car. and by the way they havent made a manual charger since the 70's they might have a slap shifter but it still has a torque converter so it takes forever to shift.

Dude I have one of these for kicking around town as a sedan and then I have a 2006 Mustang GT 5-speed. I use the autostick sometimes for more control. Please don't get to angry when i say this i rented one it twas the 3.5 and besides the styling i cant see a single redeeming feature, the transmission is awful, the steering feel is non existent, the engine note is all wrong, the interior is one of the worst i have seen in a very long time, though i think they may have changed this for the new generation. Do yourself a favor though and don't buy this car buy anything else you could probally get a g35 for the same money used

It's a car that has enough space inside that football players lounge in the back seats and feel like children among the sheer space in which they find themselves. Yet, at the same time, it doesn't succumb to the stereotypical trade-off of practicality vs excitement. The Charger is simply a marriage-saver on four wheels.

I'm not quite sure who told that other guy how old the platform is, but it definitely isn't 10 years old. I don't mind the Charger one bit. Personally I'd rather have a Chrysler 300, but the Charger is well priced for what you get and easily more exciting than the competition (Impala, Taurus, Camry, Accord etc.)

Car has already been in the shop 2 times in the last 4 months needed the rocker arms replaced both times and just yesterday their is a problem with the electronic throttle system or something like that I hae to look into it further

It was a business decision, the reason they chose to go with 4 doors is because police agencies will only buy 4 doors and its lucrative to them. I would have loved a 2 doors as well, but to say they ruined the charger, I disagree its still a bad ass even with 4 doors. If its two doors you want maybe the challenger would fit you. Even with 2 doors though, it still ways about 2 tons like the charger.

Dodge needed a four door sedan with more power than the Avenger. It would make no sense for them to make the Charger AND the Challenger two-doors! Basically it comes down to which one would you rather have four doors? Charger or Challenger? I think Dodge made a good call on this one.

I'm visiting the USA next yera and looking at hiring one of these but I had a Mustang the last time I was over and, no offence US citizens, it was one of the worst cars I ever drove...and I've driven Austin Maestro's!! Dodge needed a four door sedan with more power than the Avenger. It would make no sense for them to make the Charger AND the Challenger two-doors! Basically it comes down to which one would you rather have four doors? Charger or Challenger? I think Dodge made a good call on this one.

You could not have said that better. Nobody wants a coupe anymore, especially a larger one, I mean look at the Monte Carlo, its dang near death. I like this car, I did opt for an Avenger R/T because of gas prices, but great none the less.

I don't know. For a guy who needs a family sedan, but wants to hook it up as well without spending 45K on an srt-8 then the r/t is very attractive. now the impala comment, I can see the disdain since it is FWD but it is still faster to 60 mph than the more powerful but heavier r/t.

Half you people are retarded. This version of the Charger isn't supposed to be representative of the 60's model Chargers. They wanted to make it an attractive full size sedan with aggressive styling and performance at an affordable price. This car is all that and some. Let's compare, GM makes the Impala. Horrible looking and can't perform like a Charger. Ford makes the Taurus. Horrible looking and can't perform like a Charger. Test drive a Charger R/T and compare it to the rest and you will see.

I'm visiting the USA next yera and looking at hiring one of these but I had a Mustang the last time I was over and, no offence US citizens, it was one of the worst cars I ever drove...and I've driven Austin Maestro's!! I really hope that this is not the massive let down that the Mustang was. However at the price they ask for the Charger I cannot see how it can be classed as overpriced, compared to the UK prices it is ludicrously cheap. If you want a real class drive? 3 letters: B M W

wow, thats true. the 300 and charger have been worn out.but i dont think the magnum will lose its attractiveness in styling.

no dude the 300 still looks classy in my opinion. everybody has a charger, but the 300 is less common (although common). i just think the 300 looks much more classy and attractive than that pile of plastic they call the charger now a days

When was the last time you looked at a Charger srt8? They look ten times better than the r/t I think with its wing, body kit, rims, and hood scoop. I have the same opinion on the 300hemic vs. its srt8 version.
