I wounder what his wife is going to said when he gets home and said ,,,,,honey I crash the 10k jet plane and it cach on fire,so is a total loss, ohhh really my love , I see you at the court house for futher instructions on landing a divorce paper plane on your stupid head
That's a sad loss...a lot of work up in smoke. At least no one was hurt. As the approach to the club's runway is over that fence, I would have thought they would have had bright tape etc along the top edge of that fence... that is probably not the first time someone has come in too low over that fence and clipped it. I'm not sure where you are but here in Australia we had the same problem at our club with people clipping a fence until we put orange hi-visibility tape & small flags along the top.
his mind is something like "WTF!!! why did all other club members did not run too with their fire extinguishers?...a turbine engine crash should always be treated as it is going to catch fire. Turbines and liquids do no hold well that kind of accelerations...
Bad luck -- but a CO2 extinguisher works just fine against jet-fuel. I think the first extinguisher was either incorrectly used or faulty -- the gas was coming out in two directions. The second extinguisher was also CO2 and worked because it was used correctly.
There was a problem with the CO-2 comming out in 2 directions on the first extinguisher, but the fire was much smaller at the time and Carlos sprayed it directly on the fire as he should have. The second extinguisher was Dry Chemical powder, even though the fire was much bigger by the time the Dry powder extinguisher was used, it put the fire out very quickly. Lesson Learned - CO-2 only takes away oxygen, Almost useless for this type of outdoor fire....
Well there the problem, You never spray directly on the fire, Always shoot at the base of the fire. Go to any fire Department and they will tell you the same thing. That the way I was train to put out aircraft fuel when I was in the Navy
too bad

What a Muppet!
Learn to fly numnuts - that will stop you crying.
With a display of piloting like that, maybe should consider using a buddy box.

Geez if the guy's gonna spend like 10000 dollars on an rc jet plane he should at least know how to miss a fence post!

Okay - why was he holding the fire extinguisher upside-down and then horizontal? Pull-Aim-Squeeze-Sweep (PASS).

I wonder what goes through the pilot's head as he watches his 10k aircraft burn in front of his eyes.
