ether A this process is easier than i thought it would be or your damn good at this =D
also a couple of questions, what do you do with the pelts? why didnt you start by cutting the head off? and what kind of knife are you useing? that thing cuts real good
Yeeehaw man, Im from East Texas and huntin' and skinin' is one the best dang Texan activities you can do, I like your way of skinin' there deer btw. Good job dude
about getting the blood out, we put all of the meat in an ice chest with ice and as the ice melts, you drain the water out. Do this for two or three days and it gets most of the blood out. This lets you keep the meat cold while draining it and its not hanging out in the open for dirt and bugs to get on it.
its skinned this way so that the hide is all in one piece for the taxidermist......yes its faster to hang it by the neck and jerk the hide off but this way is better if u want it mounted
@7xrepiv i dont the place i take my deer to lets the carcass hang 3 days before they process it (after skinning and gutting) and most the blood will drain out from that
hey im planning on starting to hunt. however im not sure if im mentally comfortable with taking the life of an animal. can someone tell me what it was like their first time and how you mentally prepared and emotionally prepared. i really wanna hunt but im still not comfortable with the idea of ending another creatures existence ya know? also if you could recommend some literature it would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much.
@y3k23k well, its not so bad after the first time.at first i felt the same way, then i got excited to be hunting with friends and stuff,it didnt really hit me till i was about to pull the trigger, then i didnt want to shoot it.after shooting it it made me feel horrible because i didnt take it down with the first shot and i had to end it with my knife.hunting just isnt for some people, but you'll never know till u try.its deffinatly fun going with fam. or friends just camping. def. try it once tho.
@y3k23k I'm not sure why you think you want to hunt if you cringe at the idea of killing an animal... If you weren't killing anything they would call it hiking...
@y3k23k killing a deer is no problem think about the one that ran into ur car and made u total that shit out then ur ready just put the crosshairs on the front shoulder and squeeze the trigger one more fender bender gone
@y3k23k Think of this like that : There is some number of animals that need to be killed every year so they dont over populate and dont run out of food.
I ould like to go for my first hunting too i got .308 win , but i dont have a licence, outdoor equpment and a lot of other stuff that you need for hunting . I was using my rifle for target shooting until now
I think its faster hanging the deer and skinning it. You can get alot more skin off by just simply pulling and alot less cutting. To each there own, they got the job done.
Thanks for the video, really great. Shot my first Muntjac a couple of days ago, so looking forward to skinning it. Bit of a different job though, a fully grown Munty weighs 25-28 pounds.
My videos are shot far in advance of their release date. I've got a lot more outdoor videos just waiting to be edited and uploaded. Thanks for watching.
Nice. First year I've got my hunting license (ever), and I've been out dove hunting and squirrel hunting. Got a few dove. Not sure if I'm going out for deer this year or not.
And now we have a new coat with hood. lol jk.
