Hey... I just went thru all the comments for this video & you were asked several times, what the lav mic that you were using for this particular video was & so far you haven't answered. Is there a reason. Please let us know!
It has really great sound & I want to buy it too. Thanks! :)
I am not trying to be mean or sound rude but, any audio recording on 2 channels is stereo, I am a musician and 2 channel devices ae stereo. what you mean is a pan is unable happen meaning you can't switch from one to the other.
you said this mic was mono.. then you said it was stereo.. stereo means, it records left and right . This is a condenser shotgun mic. only one direction. And the stabilisor doesnt protect against someone hitting the mic. its if there is vigorous movement of the camera.. the mic can move freely and not rattle etc. and what about the decibel change under the battery? other then that.. nice
When the reviewer says, "stereo" what he really means is that the TRS jack sends a mono audio to both channels. Not really really stereo per se. Still, this may help in post if you typically balance right and left channels for playback.
How good is this in isolating sound in a restaurant table if I'm sitting across from subject but don't want to hear ambient noise of other patrons. Or would a lavalier wireless mic be better for that situation. I want to interview people in noisy settings. Would be nice if I didn't have to attach a mic to them. Thanks.
hey im thinking of buying this mic. can someone pm me if i can use this with my camera the sanyo HD 2000. it has a cold shoe fitting and i want to make sure it will fit on. thanks
Hello,i seriously need help!!!I want to buy this mic and i live in Europe.I bought a canon hg10 camera in USA.Will this mic work on my camera??(i will buy this mic in europe)
Great review dude. I like how in all these review videos though the person has a better mic than the one their reviewing so it sounds worse in comparison haha.
this mic is not stereo. it's a shotgun mic. you would have to get the Rode Stereo VideoMic for $249, which is great. just keep in mind that there are 2 different mics that you will probably want.
Shotgun - (Rode Videomic) - mono- tries to eliminate ambient noise and capture your main subject (ie. interviews)
Stereo Mic - (Rode Stereo Videomic) - stereo - tries to capture ambient noise with a little boost whever you point the camera. (ie. concerts, video of your band)
thanks for the review. i'm planning on buying a Canon HV40 and I want an external microphone and decided to go with this one. the video is awesome too, nicely done!
why did you hit the mic? shake the cam...of course youre going to hear shit when you hit the mic haha...

I noticed that your voice sounded louder at times in your review. Did you enhance your audio in editing? Are you wearing a mic?
