I love this! I was just watching House season 3 bloopers and Hugh still makes those same hilarious faces when his co-actors make a mistake. Kills me every time.
I just want to know what the man Smith has to do with it!!!
I dont know who's funnier, Hugh with his ridiculous faces, or Stephen speaking gibberish. Somehow I just thought he'd be too perfect to mess up his lines. EVER.
it is now 27 summers since comerade milenski stood slightly to the left were you are now and told me, that one day a man would come in to this shop and give notice of his alligance with the prase: good morning.
I loved the two of them in "A bit of Fry and Laurie." They were hilarious. Stephen should really guest star on House, either as a patient or better yet,he should get a full-time role. That would be so awesome!!!
Everyone would love stephen on House but Stephen doesn't like American shows cuz of how stressful they are. He guest starred on Bones a couple episodes but turned down a full time job.
It's so ignorant that people think "selling out" happens when someone becomes successful.
Playing not only an american but also a doctor/hard, rugged person is a challenging role, and he's talked about how it has helped him grow as an actor.
But I guess if finding the role of a lifetime, becoming an icon, and feeling your worth as an actor is selling out, then I guess the execs are right.
I dont know how familiar you are with Hugh's early roles, but he used to always play the silly/posh/school boy type role. So to play the character he plays in House, he should get so much more praise than he does. The guy's branched out like no other. His on-screen partner Stephen Fry has became big again in the UK through a show called QI, so there's a big a chance nowof Fry and Laurie returning.
To me, it'd be stupid for the UK not to try and piggy back on Hugh Lauries success in the USA.
I am familiar, and I agree completely. Switiching from a comedic actor to a more serious role isn't "selling out", and people that think otherwise are moronic.
I agree- the smartest thing would be to
a) cash in on his success and "reunite" him with his comedic background, and
i liked whot you said right up till you said the uk should carry him whot the hell does that mean we dont realy nead the us in films or any other progect so please do tell
What Im saying is, Hugh Laurie is an internationally known television star, far bigger than alot of the comedian/actors in the UK at the minute. The reasons for not showcasing Lauries comedic and acting talents on our screens is laughable, since he's a much better actor that most of the former soap star efforts we have on our TV dramas.
i agree i realy do they are much better than the eferts we push forwerd at the moment but one is on US tv and the other is on UK tv and bothe making a very good living from it but if we forsed them back together it would not be the same as a egsample watch the new red dwharf im sorry for my spelling
@Applaudtheactor well said. as a fellow brit I'm glad hugh laurie has broken out of the foppy englishman role. good on him and it's uks fault for not seeing his potential
I heard from an interview with Stephen that he only turned down Bones for the season because he wasn't able to do it, scheduling-wise. He would've if he could've.
think about it- take a look at a blooper track from House and compare it to this , for example. you can see the difference... stephen and hugh must have such a strong relationship
its so cool how we, the fans, get a small peek inside there actual relationship. you could tell just from this how having a meal with the two of them would go ( that would be the best experience of my life)...ahhh ... what would we do without bloopers??
Think about being able to spend just one day with these men - it would certainly be funny, interesting and fascinating. It's interesting to get a look on their friendship...
lol, these two remind me so much of farin and bela (singer and drummer of the german band "die ärzte"). actually, i do believe that stephen felt more for hugh than just friendship. but how can i tell? anyway, stephen and hugh are hugely talented and they really are cute together :) :) :).
the doctors ^^. 2 of the band members worked together since the late 70's and are still very close friends. they are quite funny, too. but apart from that they have nothing in common with fry and laurie, i guess.
You can see clearly that they're not only colleagues, but also very good friends... They react so funny to each other...
It's really funny that Stephen keeps messing up, and when Hugh's messes up at the end, Stephen says: 'What is the matter with the man?' As though he never messes up... :)
its grand to see stephen just noticing hugh's miniscule grin and then absolutely losing his composure, I love these 2, thanks so much for sharing, cheers
