Just watching the trailers, makes me jump of my bed saying "I want to freaking Play this", it looks amazing and deep, I wish the bring it to PSN as it is, then they can remake it to a 3D like CLOS, if the 3D would have as much depth as what I saw, it is going to be a blast, But I still can't wait for CLOS2

i like playing as female characters because men heroes are overdone to the ground. I prefer cool looking females rather than sexy ones as well. If you have a problem playing as a female character, you can play almost any other game. i dont see why anyone would complain about Shanoa being the main character of this game.

I strongly recommend this over the other DS castlevanias.

If you're a fan of the series, then I can tell you that this game is as good as SOTN.

You will not regret this one.. (I bought the DS just for this game, and i dont regret it).

If you can only get one of the Castlevania games for DS, I strongly suggest you get this one. It's a bit difficult for beginner's, but hey. That's what walkthroughs and guides are for. If you can get through this game by yourself, you're sure to have one heck of a fun experience.

I don't mind the "Metroidvania" style of CV games. I just miss being able to play as a Belmont. So far Portrait of Ruin is the only game of this type that features a Belmont style hero to play as.They need to remake CV 3 in this style. Lots of exploration along with 4 playable characters......each with their own combat style.

Well... It seems we're further away from having a castlevania game like the classic NES-SNES ones... With only simon belmont going through a linear castle to fight Dracula at the end... That's Castlevania, and I'm extremely disappointed to see that Castlevania games are taking the SoTN style rather than the original Castlevania style... I can just imagine the day they will make a "castlevania 5"... But I guess that's just a dream, isn't it?

@JustinHirade SoTN is one of the best Castlevania games in history.Saying that games are taking its style is actually a complement.

The classic ones were great,but the character was hard to control,the jumping was hard and the difficulty was way too much. Plus that kind of play style that you are talking about is too outdated.A game TOO linear nowadays will only make people complain.SoTN upgraded it.

What I DON'T like is the new 3D ones...its not even in a castle,its like God of War...damn it.

@JustinHirade the reason its taking the SotN style is because it was far preferred by people than the original. a few stubborn hardcore players arent enough to warrant making another game that goes back decades in terms of evolution of gaming. linear games are often looked down on for being so these days, its just not nearly as acceptable anymore.

@JustinHirade If you have a PSP try Rondo of Blood on Dracula X Chronicles, that features classic castlevania controls and is hard as hell if your up for a challenge. And if your able to you can also unlock Symphony of the Night so you get the best of both.

Truly one of the best in the Castlevania series, this was the game that finally convinced me to buy a DS. It's right up there with Symphony of the Night.

The graphics, sound and gameplay are all great. And the challenge! The ramped up difficulty was a welcome change...here's hoping they continue that trend with future games in the franchise.

This game olny has one problem, no vampire killer(the belmonts whip). But it has Dracula and Death, plus an extra chacter with a gun, so who gives a shit.

i enjoyed the hell out of it the combat system is perfect like its what you get when you throw all the RPG castlevania combat systems in a blender and you get this the dual wield from SOTN, the atack catching from DOS en AOS, the combo attacks from COTM. this is for me the perfect RPG castlevania :D

Dawn of Sorrow on the other hand won't let you do this, not to mention the horrible bubble gum generic anime art style and thrown in akward stylus controls are kind of breaking the experience for me. ;p

I mean i love stylus controls, but this is a traditional game and they feel completely misplaced.

I have a soft spot for games where the main character is female and she isn't a Hollywood action heroine, which means she isn't a cocky and arrogant showboat. Shanoa is just so cool and attractive for being an amnesia victim.

Better than Symphony of the Night, well to be honest I like almost all CV games except Simon's Quest. It's too complicated and I can't beat it without a FAQ. Most CV games I use an FAQ as a last resort. Anywho we can both agree that OoE is a great addition to the series.

Dawn of Sorrow is the best Castlevania for DS. I have beat it completely and have done everything 100% I have done the same on Castlevania Order of Ecclesia and I can definitely say that Dawn of Sorrow is alot better. I have also played Portrait of Ruin, although not completely through the game, but Dawn of Sorrow is certainly the best Castlevania for the DS.

over 20 explorable areas!! the areas are small exept dracula's castle this game is fantastic i have it and cleared it with shanoa and albus 100% with the 2 charcters =)
