The US made conditions worse in Haiti when it withheld 500 million in aid after Aristide failed to cooperate with the US. He refused to be a Puppet government, tried to help his people for the bette and was removed from power thanks to the CIA. This is all lies intended to deceive the masses using goodwill gestures in order to distract from the true political and capitalistic goals of the "men in black" who rule the US.

Would they be better of without our help, or if we were in charge? They can't take care of themselves, so why do we not deserve to occupy the territory and control things? The country has been in chaos and poverty for years, now more than ever. They need order. We can oblige. Do some more research into the history of Haiti and discover for yourself what the country really means to the US. Trust me when I say that those who occupy always have something to gain whether it's resources or some other intangible benefit. Why not? They'd be far worse off without our considerable aid, and God knows that need a structured and orderly security force to help prevent the infrastructure of the country from further descending into chaos. They certainly don't have the forces to keep looters, rioters and crazed survivors at bay.

And I know enough about Haiti. It was French-occupied since they brought African slaves over into the Western Hemisphere, but they "defeated" them in 1912. Since then, things haven't been great.

Haiti has been a pathetic example of a nation for a century, its people being far better off under the rule of Europeans than under their own hand. And yes, the troops occupied Haiti, for the sake of providing not only aid, but security, because Haiti pleaded for assistance. We've given hundreds of millions we'll never seen returned!

However, that being said, the U.S. has done far more good in this world than evil. The stupidest thing ive sen in this whole relief effort is the SHAMELESS opportunities taken by politicians like Hillery Clinton,Harry Reid and of course ole Bill and others,going to Haiti,adding to the clustered and overly busy airports there while supply planes are forced to circle while waiting for these other planes and private jets to get out of the way.

The military should ban all air traffic, visitors and these site seer's to Haiti unless they are involved in the relief efforts there!!

Haiti became poor under french rule. Like all french colonies they were left dirt poor unlike most British ones which tended to be the wealthiest in their regions when given freedom. In the 20th century the USA colonized Haiti for 20 years and ended up bankrupting their country. Aid dumping of food by the USA and political corruption in the last 20 years has caused Haitis current poverty.
