the only problem with the ARMA and Flashpoint games are that the enemy shoots at you a 1 click away and you almost never no where the fuck the fire is comming from. And they always have more accuracy that the NPCs on your team. Othewise a fun series

@ThaFonz19 Americas Army is like counter strike compared to Armed Assault. Especially with the (free) mod ACE 2.

The only thing that can beat it in terms of realism would be to enlist for the real army.

@WhitetailWillie Arma 2 is hard to play and still has a few bugs... its fun if you're relly into squad play. But its more like a "simulation". If you want quick action COD is a better choice

This game would have been A LOT better had it not gone down the fucking 'you're in a fictional 4 man rambo squad, srsly, this is realism...' rout....cus' the AI can't really handle being told what to do, it's not as fun as in operation flashpoint cold war crisis, when it was large battles/wars and you never had to lead 4 men against like, 100.

It's simple, if they recorded entire sentences the sound library that would accompany every possible thing the AI can say would be easily tripled.

This creates many possible combinations of words and statements, albeit not well, into unique orders, intel updates and commands.

The fact of the matter is, this game unlike games that operate on a much smaller scale such as MW2 absolutely require this.

The game is far more complicated from a tactical standpoint.

As Fraps ( the program ) records, it needs power ( power comes from your pc ) thus lowering the speed the game is running. ( lowering your frames on the screen per second, creating " lag " ), Now you got it ?

Well, one of the best things about Operation Flashpoint and Armed Assault has always been its user community missions, addons, and mods. With the Xbox 360 version, a huge portion will be lost to the user. Besides, if the 360 version really is an updated version, the PC version will just be patched to that level in the end.

depends on how good you keep your system up to date. But to be honest i think it depends on Luck ;)... With your System Specs you will have to turn Details down to Low maybe some on Normal. Without Antialiasing you will be able to play it.. ( Fillrate below 75% ) but then this Game looks like Arma (1 ) ;)

I did, from 3.3ghz to 4.0ghz. Did give me a slight boost, but it looks as if the i7 is the best cpu for the game, and that quadcore is a lot better than duals. Still, I checked GPU and CPU loads whilst playing the game and it really doesnt put much strain on the system. The game needs to be optimised much more than it's current state to take advantage of unused power.

Seems that they've put at least a few new sounds in.

For instance those bullet impact sounds are really cool.

But overall, it seems that the weapon and explosion sounds still seem to be the lame and mostly very unrealistic ones from Armed Assault and Flashpoint.

Thank god for the modding community. They will do something about it. ;-)

I just wish such things would come right away with a new installment and they would stop reusing the old material over and over again.

Well I've downloaded a crack of the german version until UK release to have a go, and I'm really not sure what kind of performance you can expect in it's current state. There is a fill rate setting that alters the sharpness of objects ingame, you really need this at 100% inorder to actually see things at distance or in cover. It kills my FPS.

The Boot camp and Editor seem fine, but campaign and some scenarios i struggle to get over 30fps.

It's weird. Regardless of the settings you put it on you will see little difference in your framerate, just an increase in mouse lag. Forcing V-sync off in Nvidia CP helps a little but not much. Maybe a cracked copy doesnt help, I'm really not sure.

It gave some wierd error message in russian or some shit :P

I dont care though, I am going to be buying it in a few weeks.

I will have to stick with watching all the youtube vids I can untill then :P
