  • dudette. LOL!!! I love it.

  • I remember when I first heard Dave Clark Five's "Glad All Over" it TOTALLY reminded me of this song so for years I thought that's what this was a parody of. I now realize it's more of a generic Beach Boys spoof. But listen to the chords and rhythm of DC5's "Glad All Over"...I think you'll see a similarity between that song and "Love the Ocean"!! :D

  • This has a little mix/taste of several surfer/beach groups.

But the real problem are the twice daily trash barges out of New York city that go out to sea and dump the trash directly into the ocean.

  • Who performs the fish? Don't tell me! I'll bet it's Kevin Clash. I guess that because I'll bet this sketch was done after Richard Hunt died, otherwise he would have been my other guess. He is my favorite.

  • Jerry Nelson, lead vocals. Kevin isn't on it. Richard was alive, but not on this. Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Ivy Austen... (I think).

Me.... (Paul Jacobs, singing high stuff).

lyrics and music by Sarah Durkee and Me....)

The first of many Beach Boys parodies.... I'm a big fan!

  • Nothing annoys me more than people leaving trash in on and around the ocean!

  • I know. It annoys me too!

  • I have this episode(not from the beginning, though) on tape! this had that Petronella animated short on it and I loved it. I'll never forget this song.

  • No doubt about it - Sesame Street fucking rocked.

    Never understood Barney myself.

  • Sweet quality.

  • like where is the problem lol

  • As a kid, I thought this was a parody of "Glad All Over" by the Dave Clark Five, and I thought they were saying "blah-blah-blah, blah the ocean"! lol :p

  • I just wanted to say sorry for my spelling in the last comment writing in the dark is not easy anyway keep enjoying the classics peace

  • hey everyone lets not omly love the ocean but love ourselves and those around us indeed no need for the hostility this song and others from this time in history really knew how to rock out and send a message at the same time so anyway thanks for bringing back some great memories as for those who have been involved in some little dispute I hope ya'll can settle it peacefully and really enjoy music from a great time again thanks alot for posting this movie peace

  • Her name is Camille Bonora, you idiot!

  • No need for such hostility. I know that now. You don't have to call me an idiot. I don't know every single puppeteer and voice actor that worked on this show.

  • Surfies as environmental protesters? What were Sesame Street thinking?

  • I love the song. Hate the valley accents. The female monster's accent annoys me the most. But the song is great.

  • Yeah, the way she talks annoys me. But her singing is great. That's why I wonder who performed her.

  • I remember this one!

  • Cant beat a bit of Sesame Street.

    Should be back on!!

If not for the kids, but for us reminiscing of the past!!

  • ha i remember this duuude.

  • well, it's a great way to tell ppl to keep the ocean litter free.

  • omg i love this! it has me so pissed that they took it off! the old sesame street kicks ass!

  • I used to this on tape.

  • I'm glad this one is posted! I still walk around with this song in my head and I haven't seen this in years.

  • I remember this one too. I always felt sorry for the poor fish. :(

  • I love Camille Bonora's Annette Funicello impression. "Like, whurrrs the problem?"

  • This was pretty cool! When was this made?

  • 1989, probably.

  • pretty sure it's some time before that, maybe '86

  • Oh no...Gobo Fraggle has morphed into a singing, surfing monster!

  • LOL, that was the first thing I noticed, too!

  • Jerry Nelson was radical as a surfin' monster dude!

  • Who did the female monster's voice?

  • They should recreate this in a street scene with Miles and Gabi singing lead and Elmo, Zoe, Rosita, and Baby Bear harmonizing.

  • The "street scene" would need to involve a day trip to the beach, unless you wanted most of the lyrics changed. Still, but updating the song with new characters might appeal to the kids who watch now, that much is true. The original version deserves four stars, in my opinion... :-)

  • Five stars, dude.

  • Agreed, man! How I, like, totally love that song! I NEVER litter! Never leave trash in the park OR the ocean!
