you guys are arguing over a whale's emotions to which no one know's what the whale is thinking , killer whales are actually very smart.. they stay with one mate, they are great parent's , but once they are put into captivity you can't expect them to be able to survive out of it... as far as him being agitated they said he was not following instructions.. i personally wouldn't have brought him out that day , he should have gotten a break.

Actually, one of the audience members said the whale seemed very agitated when he was swiming in the tank before he grabbed her. These are WILD animals and they shouldn't be caged.

It happened after Dine w/Shamu. Tillikum didn't do it in anger - he did so to play. Whales can't comprehend that humans can't breathe under water nor know their own strength. He did not reach up and grab her. She was knee-deep in the water, laying down, he grabbed her by her pony tail into the water to PLAY. The 1st incident was an untrained employee who Tillikum felt was going to harm his calf. 2nd: man who got in & died from hypothermia. They kill to eat; he has never ate a human.
