  • really? when my birds are happy their crest is up and they look like they're smiling and their feathers are all fluffed up but when they hiss or are mad their crest is flat on their head. But when they are alert or scared their crest is like BAM! it flies up.

    lol i call it a mohawk. my bird lets me touch his mohawk and rub his cheeks and head. But he hisses alot.

  • yes a cockatiels crest helps to tell you the mood its in often if the crest is laying flat on its head its happy but if its crest is right up its scared. Also if its feet are warm its happy
