I do not agree with abortion, but as a christian, I can not judge people for their decisions. Maybe other christians who fight so hard against abortion actually did something to prevent unwanted pregnancies(volunteer, educate, etc.) then they would help the situation. With a mother's ailing health, the question here is how far along is the mother anyway? If she is beyond 15 weeks, most doctors prefer to induce labor because of the size of the baby and the risk of the baby's bones cutting the mother's uterus. So if the mother is around 24-25 weeks that baby now has a good chance of surviving outside the uterus with current medical technology. Why kill that infant as it is being born? This does not impact the mother's health. Baby still has to be delivered.

I should know. My baby had to be delivered at 34 weeks because of my medical problems. Now she is a happy, healthy toddler. So I should have the right as she was coming down my birth canal to say I don't want this baby now, butcher her up.
