I have already unlocked an 9000. Now i´m trying to unlock an 8310 for a friend, but when i connect the blackberry the MFI dosen´t start. I have tryied to plug in whith and without the sim card, the blackberry desktop recognizes the backberry plugued in, but the MFI dosn´t start. The intert connection is off. What am i doing wrong???

Ive unlocked 2 blackberry 8100s and a blackberry 8120 using this guide. Thanks alot man!

Only problem with the 8120 was it took a while to find the files to install back to the phone near the end. It kept saying there are no files found from the desktop manager so i used the blackberry online updater and it found the files to install.

ok ,just one question because i did everything and my phone is still locked ,when did you put your sim card back in to the phone ,before running desktop manager or after the whole process ? By the way I disconnected all internet connections and I erased vendor.xtml file and I still get an error while running MFI multiloader ,it doesn't want to pass and is missing some file or something like that ,thanks .

Same thing I got before on my Rogers (Canadian) 8100 Pearl:

"The MFI file was not found on the local drive. Cannot download from server without an active network connection."

Unpacked and installed according to directions and yes, I have the internet off? What MFI file is it referring to?

4-delete the vendor.xml file located in:

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader.

5-Install MFI Multiloader (MMLSetup.rar).

6-Unzip MML.zip and copy to "C:\MML" - Overwrite ALL files there.

7-Disconnect your internet connection

before using MFI Multiloader.

8-Open MFI Multiloader

using the shortcut on your desktop and then connect your Blackberry.

9-Then just wait until the program displays

"pass".Then your phone should display a one (1) in the upper left corner.

LOL None so far! Only difference is if you're going abroad and want to use a local sim card to save on roaming charges or you're thinking of changing provider.... or its come time to sell it on and you want to increase its re-sell value!

It unlocks it completely, long as the blackberry model in question supports the tri/quad bands (or 3G style networks) it will work, I recommend you check with us or check on a site such as gsmarenato check compatability with frequencies
