Maravilloso juego, por cierto muy bien ambientado con esa música.

Este juego, Blade the edge of darkness (in europe) me cautivo por completo.

No solo su sistema de combate, sino porque cualquier enemigo (por muy pequeño que este sea) te puede eliminar rapidamente si no se reacciona a tiempo.

La música y ambientación, desde mi punto de vista, acertada 100%.

first the bad things: -the menus don't work very well with win7/ winxp -in win 7 there are a lot of graphic glitches, but nothing too horrible -codemasters has one of the worst DRM systems ever

the good things -the game runs perfectly fluent -the graphics are outstanding for the time it was produced -the game rocks!

1:30 THAT'S why this game was so damn good, THAT'S why any games with this feature is good. Dismemberment on kill. I know it sounds gruesome... but when you kill something that bleeds in a video game, you wanna see it's head go off.

This game is among the many games I uninstalled within the the first hour of playing it. Not fun to play in the least I mean really, button combinations for attacks?! That's for consoles PC don't have that shit. I picked up Rune instead, MUCH more fun to play.

@zeroxcrusher there are some with similar fighting systems, gothic 2 and risen are pretty fun but more simple. if you have a PS3 consider demons souls, there maybee not as many strikes as in S:BoD but its really fast paced a hard

This game is really great. If you can look past the shitty character drawings then you'll love it. It really is something else, it's different fro most hack and slash where you just run and go berserk and kill the person. In this game you have you take serious control of your character, you need to counter attack a lot and you have to master the counter attacking or you'll go no where.

I loved the mixture between a combo style beat'em'up and role-playing fantasy game. Although the character movement felt a bit stiff, the fighting animations were just great! Generally the graphics were amazing for that time. The enemies acted quite realistically and I think the difficulty level was way too tough for beginners ;)

I was hoping maybe demon's souls is a game that could maybe be the modern Blade of darneknss, but from what i see from glameplay vids, the combat system is fairly different unfortunately. why won't anyone make a spiritual success to this marvelous game.

After a few years, I've just reinstalled this game and currently trying to get it to work properly on vista. It runs, but some of the visuals don't seem to show up. On boot it loads up, and I see the Codemasters logo and the red loading bar but then at the main menu, the words "New Game, Credits, Controls, etc" can hardly be seen. The text color is black and barely visible. I can jump into a new game and play but cannot see any of the words. Using the 1.01 patch has the same result too.Any help?

In Spain the game its called Blade: the edge of Darkness but they changed the title to Severance: Blade of darkness in the USA and the rest of the EU because they had problems with a TV series with the same name.

of course you can use swords... the barbarian can use the 2 handed swords. The knight is using the 1 handed swords + shield .
