Singapore Assault Rifle 21st Century.
Malaysian using Styer AUG since 1992.. Too many movement in drill compare with M16.
And heavy...

SAR 21 have shorter drill movements compared to the M16. Mostly 2 movement per drill except for a few.
And same as the styer aug, heavy too. With the scope, laser and stuff.

Original Styer AUG Drill is shorter too. Present drill without sling is many movement to make.

I'm very surprised to see that there have been absolutely minimal changes to the drill handbook.
For instance, when the British moved from using the L1A1 SLR to the much shorter SA80, they had to completely rework all the rifle drills.
We definitely could learn a thing or two from the British Army. We share similar service rifles, both being bullpup.

I often wonder how we've managed to keep using M16 drills on the SAR21.
I find having the SAR21 sloped while marching to be far more better than have it shouldered.

@emptyangel That would be the same thing the British Armed Forces is doing in its parades, doing slope arms instead of shoulder arms.

M16 drill. same as malaysian hormat senjata movement.

Yeah. This video was about 1 year ago. That time it was still M16. Now it has been replaced by SAR 21.
