What a beautiful gift this must have been for Clay's grandpa...Sad that he is not here with Clay anymore but his grandpa must have been mighty proud of his grandson...And Clay did an awesome job on this song as well as the girls Quiana and Angie they also sounded awesome...I'm sure papa is looking down from Heaven and is so proud of his grandson...RIP papa!!!
This montage has always been one of my favorites. Today, Papa passed away. What a beautiful tribute to a man who meant the world to Clay. Rest in Peace, Dear Papa.
The true Measure of a Man is his capacity to love and honor his family. Rest in peace - "shine on" - Papa. You leave behind a beautiful loving family.
Now you would think since he was church raised, he knows who Christ Jesus is. He must know he is a abomination to God. He lies with another man. I can't deny he can sing, But being gay is such a turn off. He needs to wake up to the truth about what the Lord thinks about his way of life, and get a wife. We know he loves his grandfather
Sorry just being truthful, love the person hate the sin.
If you were raised in a church you would find in the Bible, where is says, God made us "All" in his image. I think God loves Clay just as much as he loves you, even though you are a bigot.
Jesus walked with all types of people, and not just those who thought they were "rightous", in fact especially not those types. He loved everyone, but was very critical of the self-rightous. Maybe you and those like you, should take a lesson.
It is between Clay and God, not anyone else, as it is between you and God. It is NOT your sins that stop you getting to heaven, but accepting Jesus as our Lord and saviour, that does. We are forgiven. Clay knows this. We are ALL serial sinners, not only gays.
I don't think he was insulting Bluegrass. I just think he wanted to sing something other than country and bluegrass, and because he was from the South, was maybe afraid he would be pidgeonholed as only a country singer.
He has sung country before as well, when he was young, and does a beautiful job at it. I just think he wanted to be more diverse.
First, I love blue grass. It may not be his genre, but I don't see how anything could be much more straight from the heart than this. Clay Aiken told his grandfather how much he loves him and did it beautifully.
This still brings tears to my eyes. I was at that concert but we couldn't hear Clay's papa in the background....that just does it for me! Clay was wonderful to show his love for his papa by singing this even though it is not his favorite genre. I thought he did a beautiful job, and once again, Clay proves he can sing anything.
Wow! This one really made me cry. I didn't expect it; it just happened. My grandpa is going through some serious health issues right now, but he still loves to hear my music. That is one of his favorite things in the world! Thank you for putting up this video. It is just the think I needed to see!
This really exemplifies the true meaning of Christmas. What a beautiful testimony of love to his grandfather. This is what the spirit of the season is all about. Christmas is all about love. The video is great and, although I would never say that bluegrass is my favourite type of music, Clay does a wonderful job with this song.
That was such an awesome night. He had the whole fandom practically in tears at that, whether they were there in person or listening through cellstreams.
This is such a special man to honor his Grandpa this way. Thank you for posting it here. That's Clay reading his audio book: Learning to Sing --Hearing the Music in Your Life.

This shows how much he loves his Grandfather, he's also at an age where it's time to accept your heritage, we all get there sooner or later.
Beautiful job

Bluegrass/Country singing is straight from the heart. He still sings in that faux- R n' B/Pop voice and it just doesnt work for the song.
