The history is that in the original show and shorts Donald would always come out, throw a tantrum, and go on about how he's the greatest and basically vommit meaningless words. So we took it literally. =^)

@commentprofile This was actually animated over time in chunks. So when SteamBoot Billy comes on, you should be able to see a big improvement. Are you also talking about character designs or just animation? (Because you only mentioned the animation.)

Well instead of cursing and flaming, allow me to give some constructive criticism.

The animations are mostly stiff, although there was quite a bit of improvement in steamboot billy. But all in all there's not enough rotation. Using mostly pivot-point animation makes it a bit lack luster. In addition, even though it's not supposed to look like the actual characters, a little less "wiggly" linework can come in handy. The comedy aspect was ok, although 1:25 made me crack up :P

@Zuhukanah Thanks! Interestingly, the animator picked it up a few times over the course of a year so the most recent work was the SteamBoot Billy scene... thus the noticeable improvement.

I understand about pivot-point animation. The goal of these projects is minimalistic animation.

I don't animate for the means of creating videos, if I animate at all. I have dabbled a little bit in 3D animation, but I plan to use it more for game design than animation. As far as 2D animation, I used to draw out sprites all the time when I first started getting the hang of my computer when I was young, which again was leaning more towards game design. The only reason I was able to give some critique was because I payed attention to what OTHER animators do :D
