At one time I was in a crowded Golden Corral having dinner with my son and he got up and went to the serving line for some more. I lost him in amongst the crowed for 5 minutes too long. I called the cops and just before the cops arrived, for 30 seconds I had to face the horrible reality that my son was taken. I knew at that point that I would kill the man who done it and I felt horribly irresponsible for having let him out of my site.  Luckily he was not taken and was in the serving line

Temporary insanity is in the law for this exact situation.At best they would get one hung jury after another. There would always be a hold out.
