I played a Musicmaster at a garage jam years ago and was totally knocked out by how cool it was. It was a little crunch monster like the one in the video. With only two gain stages and no phase inverter (they use a splitter transformer instead) it's kind of a mystery to me where the overdrive comes from, but it's definitely there. It has to be pure output tube distortion since there's not enough preamp gain to have any significant preamp distortion.

Had one. Dark sounding amps. With the volume past 5 you got crunch. It's like a miniature marshally thing, not fendery at all. Cool as all hell.

WTF? Is that thing modded? I've got the same amp and it sounds good but nowhere near that much gain. That thing sounds sick!

Definitely do something with single coils! Been thinking about picking up one of these..I have an LP Junior clone with a P-90.
