This is one of the few hip hop groups that is strong enough to bring tears with impression. A masterpiece at its time and it's a shame that they didn't earn the full recognition they deserved.
These guys are so talented and deserve so much more attention. Got me through a very lonely time in my life. I wish I could thank them personally and tell them how much I love them. God Bless PM Dawn, don't know where they are now but they will always in my heart and my soul.
Ahead of their time. I was in the fourth grade when this song dropped. Now im 25 yrs old and listening to it brings back some great memories man. Im glad I grew up in the 90s.

in terms of lyrics this is really stupid with the emotional msytism, PLEASE grow up PM. Dawn, try looking and understanding thw world, for there a world outside your head and try living in this world and not soley living in emotional bliss as personal insight
PM Dawn, you're truly unique. At such tender ages in the early ninenties, you were still able pull off such in-depth lyrics. I just wonder how good you would be today. Surely you can give us more joy .
@mcshafrey I agree so much. I have yet to meet another PM Dawn fan in my real life. I still have the old CDs in my car I listen to. All my friends use to say PM Dawn reminded them of me- cause I was the only one who listened to them and they all realized how good they were. "I'd Die Without You" is one of the best songs I ever heard next to Ray Charles "Georgia" and Bill Withers "Aint no Sunshine". =)
As a product of the eighties, I would have to say, these guys were best able to take great elements of eighties music, and put it into the nineties, and make it entertaining.
He had the answers to all his questions but because he interpreted it with reasons not the love he never felt from and became "impatient". As the saying goes that the heart has reasons of its own which reason do not know..... " but if I'm wrong then show me if i'm wrong.. Raisins hehehe."
I have been holding firmly to this interpretation since I was 12...16 years ago! Even if you are trying to prove to me the Earth isn't flat, I will take a stand for what I hold so dearly to! You've misconstrued your lyrics, due to the lack of love...RAISINS!
so beautiful, loving this, love the lyrics , and of course the backdrop, my beautiful amazing George, the melody and the vocal, spine-tingling, thanks for posting, just love it, SATIN X X
yes they did sample from "Father Figure".....also if you listen to "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss of You" they sampled from Spandau Ballet's song "True"........
hey everybody, i was in highschool when this song came out..this song led me and my friends to form a dance group. that was fun, this song brings out a lot of memries.
@hellraiza81 -I would beg to differ. Depends on the clubs you frequent or the crowd. I saw P.M Dawn in a Charlotte Club in 2005 and everyone their got down to this and loved it.
I came up in the 80's/90's, which means I was about a freshman or sophmore in highschool when this was out.....man what times those were then, I always think of the beautiful Middle Eastern girl I was going with back then, and all my friends running with us. Damn those were the days
Not only does this song sample my all time fave track (FATHER FIGURE) by my all time fave artist (GEORGE MICHAEL), but another great artist (CATHY DENNIS) sings back up vocals. A winning combo!
First of all I am a HUGE fan of George Michael and "Father Figure" (I still listen to it in heavy rotation). I am a fan of PM Dawn and thought this song was beautiful. This group was awesome but "on another level". You have to think (and feel) outside of the box to really get them!!! A talent duo but they never saw mainstream success and that is so unfortunate because I was a fan. Also, I love there song "Die Without You". Yep, I'm listening to that one next (lol)!
I actually like being part of a very small group who felt and understood their music. It moves me all of these years later. Thank you for giving it to us.
I remember hearing this one night when I was about 6. I thought it was one of the deepest songs I had ever heard. I am now 18 and soooo glad that I finally found this! Thanx for the post, giselle333! Now, if I could only find the video...;)
i once had this on a cassette from the early 90's, it is a beautiful piece of music and so well placed is the backing track for FATHER FIGURE, i am a massive George Michael fan, and loved this at the time, beautifully done boys, well done . . . GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS . . . yes 1993 was a fantastic year . . .
what up 2 all out there., wana say this song still hits me inside, am i right or wrong?? man does it bring back my youth of jr.high crushes. acecabhector@gmail

i first heard this song on the radio and i quickly fell in love, actually it was a very sad day for me because a close family friend passed away. At the time didn't know the name of the song, but it had a father figure sound( another favorite song of mine). The song completely had me lost in thought that day. It sounds very spiritual i think.
