@dar260 Hitler had his reasons for attacking Stalin. It is already obvious the plans of the Bolsheviks. Russia also wanted to liquidate German allies along the border. It would have resulted in conflict sooner or later. Operation Barbarossa was almost like a first move kind of thing, like a Blitzkrieg, get them before they are ready. It started off well, and didnt end well either. Concentrating on Britain first though may have been the better idea.

I think you are forgetting the entire first stages of WW2. Hitler discriminated Jews all over and tried to dominate. Germany declared war on poland because they where murdering German civilans, the only mass graves (over 100 bodies) found in Europe were in poland and they contained Germans (google "malbork mass graves"). On Sept 10th Canada declared war on Germany.

Technicaly Germany declared war on the USA (on Dec 11th 1941) but the United States had been financing German enemies,attacking German ships, and murdered a bunch of German sailors. This is typical American behaviour since it is not easy to get congress to declare war. Rudolf Hess flew solo to Scotland on May 10th 1941 to try to negotiate peace, he was imprisoned until his death in 1987.

Technically Germany declared war on the US and the US responded by declaring war on Germany. In reality the US was already waging a naval war against Germany (sinking or seizing merchant vessels) without the approval of congress. Just like WW1 when they sent the Lusitania into German waters knowing full well it would be sunk. Then congress declared war.
Jews lost their tremendous wealth and power in Germany when Hitler came to power. Hitler was going to deport them.
